Any form of hunting mate god even catapulting with your grannys G.String i would class that as hunting Is it too late to change my mind cause that is good sport.lol
-
my mates dad used to ferret and he used a muzzle once, put it down and was paralized by a mink, a dead rabbit and diggin it out is better than a dead ferret.
-
I think it would have to be ferreting to nets, not sure if we're including shooting but ducks and pigeon.

How did you get a phesant confused with a guinea fowl. but granted they doo taste bloody good, we had 2 a goose this christmas much better than turkey and worked out cheaper even though we got both from a really good family butcher out of town a bit. i personally wouldnt point a rifle anywhere unless there is a back drop i.e a hill or shooting down,im not even to happy doing it with a air rifle (better safe than sorry) and squirels are much more fun with the .410.

Oh dear, Oh deary dear. some quite abismal shooting, makes you wonder why some whos that rubbish need a gun.
-
if their good and at a good price i'll have one as well.

That said paulus, my aunt is a misionary in paraguay and she knew some kid killed by a falling bullet after a football match they all started poping away.
-
its crazy isnt it, im worried about being grant a FAC coz of my age and reletive inexperience and then there some who been shooting for years doin such crazy things as this, who are granted FAC both closed and open by a different licensing office to myself.

was speaking to a few peopl over the months and found out that a fair few people shoot squirrels with a .22lr, now this would be fine but when i asked i found out that they shot them whilst up in trees, although i dont yet own a rifle i would have thought this would be really quite dangerous with the bullet missing and goin god knows how far. does anyone else do this???
-
Thats true but i dont know why anyone bothers these days...few months ago some peado tried ripping my best mate lil sister (only 3) out of his older sister arms. they rang the police and it took 6 hours for them to arrive and when the police was asked what would have happened if she got tacken they replied "Thats entirly a different matter".

can i just say one thing, its just a preferance but i was told by the breeder of my GWP X not to bother with the stay command, simply using the sit command will suffice, it makes sence really if the dogs sitting he aint goin to move and also why spend time on a two comaands when just one does both?
-
Are they using air rifles or cross bows?? i was told of a cross bow bolt in one of the pens on one of the shoots i go on, but not that many feathers so ..... i would suggest you put out one of those cameas which are set off by movement. at least then you can see what they are shooting with, where and hopefully put their faces in to the police (they might get up off their arses)

i use express special twenty fibre no.5 and i use these for everything from phesant and partridge to pigeon and bunnies. i spose i prefer them in a twenty as you got less lead so got to make it count. but in a 12 anything between 7.5 and 4 (once used 4 on pigeon (pre lead ban) was going for duck but they work and it was pretty high) i think my uncle uses express clear pigeon no6 in his 12.

i think you'll find a few racist american do i.e kkk and other such stupid groups. i thought that was him done for when i heard the cannons going. shame about him cocking up the oath but i would be alot worse thinkin about such things as he is.

I think the 'man in your archery club' is pulling your chain. Either that or he's got more B.S. in him than a Big Mac! my thought exactly a 100 yrd air rifle even at FAC seems impossible and bit pointless...get a rimfire. i've heard of those big calibre air rifles in america they use for bison and stuff but why bother. i've been asked to sort out a few cormrants on the fishery and i have to use non toxic, currently im using the cheapest non toxic stuff in my old baikl (my english barrels would get shredded i would think) but thought an air rifle with non toxic from a hide and baaited

be sure to take all you document like insurance other permissions. looks good and worked for me. best of luck as well mate. i should really get my self knocking on doors sometime soon.

I have a GWP X Brittany Spaniel and hes very much like the pointer in respects to him ranging, as its said before thats almost bred into them to range ahead find its quarry then stay on point for the duration it takes to allow the guns/falconer to get in position. to stop him goin forward what i do is do alot of work quartering so he still ranges but laterally rather than forward (if you get me). if this is problematic them use a long piece of rope to keep him in control and teachhes him to range only fairly close to you, in the feild this will proberly increase abit because of temptation

im not sure whether anyoneelse does it but when theres the chance of a few rats on with the rigger boots, jeans tucked in to them then hell of a lot of duck tape around the top of the boots and waist. not sure if anyone saw that swarm programme with millions of rats in a pig shed. god knows how you would sort that lot out....petrol bomb the place???

curious about bipods....bi-curious???
Sterry replied to Sterry's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
the gun i got is a RWS excalibre cabine, it has to allen bolts underneathtoward the trigger, would that be how you remove it?? cheers btw -
By law he should have had it in a case and what not, but travelling at 2am on a country lane to a neighbouring permission, i would expect the police to give you a ticking off and but cut you some slack and be reasonable.

get a cheap spring airgun second hand. get one for about £70 if you look in the right places
-
im not too sure if the situation your in will permitt this method but could you not regulary long net it using a drop net? other than that traps seem to be the way
-
Im thinking about getting a Deben bipod as alot of my shooting is laying down prone, would any of you think thaes are any good and is it worth getting the tilt version for extra £30? oh and can you get QD studs for pcp airrifle with air tank under the stock???

I really do think the firearms licencing authorities should get their act together and have a set of rules that is universal. just today one FEO told a friend of mine (for whatever reason) that its "alright" just to take out the magazine of a rifle will be sufficiently safe. my friend was confused and asked if he meant the bolt but no he meant the magazine.

Just an update on the situation. i've been beating on a near by shoot in the time i havent been helping out on this mentioned shoot. one of the fellas came upto me and asked "where were you last saturday...i expected you to be shooting" at first i was quite perplexed but soon realised the situation. The so called "keeper" has been holding shoots for all his mates (the ones i thought were to blame) and shooting what i class to be MY birds on days that i am still owed (cant see me getting these days back). To make this worse i saw him with these mates in the cafe before all came apparent. Q
