    Leicestershire To far for me im afraid put the feelers out local to you and see if anyone will take you out for the 1st few times to get you started We helped start a young lad on hear called snakes1989 last year he still comes with us on occasions but he has also secured his own bits of permission and is doing fine everyone has got to start somewhere hope there is someone kind enough to get you started also dont feel embarassed to keep asking questions if unsure GOOD LUCK WITH IT MATE

    Hi mate 4oz nylon nets are cheap for a one reason and thats because they are rubbish 10oz nylon nets are far better quality but to be honest we only use spun polyester as we make all our own nets and poly is nice to work with it comes in easy to see colours dont rot and handles brilliantly So my advice would be either get yourself some 10oz nylon /polyester/or hemp nets when you can afford to do so and out the 4oz nets you wont regret it good luck mate

    We went out on wednesday did a little 10 holer caught 2 missed 1 hole in leaves then the heavens opened and it pi**ed down so we called it a day it just dont seem to stop raining at the moment

    Well done mate on the 6 bunnies and thats 2 nice dogs you have there its nice to see the terrier getting on with the ferrets my terrier when he was alive was a little ba***rd but i do miss him like mad

    Shot rabbits and pigeons are fine mate mine have been fed on shot game and vermin for years and never had a problem with any ferret the only things i never feed my ferrets is pork cos it tends to give them the sh**ts and rats for obvious reasons Also if the ferrets freezer is looking a bit low we give them a good quality dry food like james wellbeloved until we go ferreting or shooting then they go back on the whole rabbit or bird again

    As unusual amounts go a few years ago we got 6 bunnies out of a 4 holer

    Got poleys whites and a sandy they all work equally as well But my ideal ferret if good worker would be a white jill of medium size

    I find the very easiest way of dispatching a rabbit is to hold it by the back legs in your left hand the rabbit will naturaly hang down with its ears laying flat on its head then put your right hand over its head so its ears are under the palm of your hand laying flat on the rabbits head then with that same right hand tilt the rabbits head back making sure you keep a good hold of the back legs with your left hand Then pull the back legs up with your left hand and at the same time push down with your right hand making sure you keep the rabbits head tilted backwards all the time this will kill

    Hi all Has anyone come across this prob before We introduced 2 kitts to our team this year and on introducing them on neutral ground ie the patio most the oldies were fine with em 2 of the really old jills cursed them a bit but soon got used to them the 2 kitts now 6 months old live happily in the court with all the others They sleep eat and work together fine UNTILL you put them in the ferret box then all hell brakes out the 2 youngsters we have to keep in a seperate double box because if you try and put them in one of bigger boxes with any of the others the youngsters start to squabble

    As rory and simonrob says a lot of the land we ferret and shoot would go mental if we told them it was only for sport or the pot they would out us and get someone in who would control the rabbits and there is plenty of ferreters who will This is how we have obtained all the permissions we have by word and mouth is by doing a good job of drasticly reducing the rabbit numbers on there land but come the spring/summer the burries soon fill up again and we start all over again I can see what you are saying but i also hope you understand where im coming from that we would soon be outed off
