how many spots has a lepoard ,63 rabbits from one man made warren started at 7.30am and was still getting the odd rabbit out but hard work as the sett was so big we had ten ferrets working one half and my mate had eight in the other side, finished at 2pm, finally got the ferrets all out 5 and a half hours, three men, 18 ferrets, 63 rabbits ,the moral of this story look for smaller sets good hunting all woodga :ph34r:

your a bottom less pit of knowledge :11: :11: :11: iv got ten working ferrets and a few youngsters at ten weeks and they dont bite me all ferrets test things with their mouths you just have to play with them and dont flick them on the nose each time they take hold of you because most imes they are only playing if you have handled the ferrets from a young age and put the time in with them you will get steady hand tame ferrets young ferrets are very easy to scare and once you have hurt it it wont forget nothing worse than seeing young ferrets arch their backs hissing when some one goes

THERE,S NO SUBSTITUTE FOR CONSTANT HANDLING OF YOUNG FERRETS TO GET THEM USED TO BEING PICKED UP IF YOU DONT PLAY WITH THEM AND HANDLE THEM DAILY WHEN THEY TURN ON YOU AND YOUR AWAKE WITH A THROBBING FINGER YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD THE SPIT THING IS JUST THE SALT IN YOUR SALIVA ALL FERRETS WILL LICK IT OFF YOUR HANDS OR FINGERS NOTHING SPECIAL IN THAT AS I SAID BEFORE HANDLING THEM ALL THE TIME WILL PAY DIVIDENDS LATER ON good hunting all woodga :ph34r:

THERE ARE LOTS OF RED KITES WHERE I LIVE I HAVE SEEN AS MANY AS TEN HOVERING OVER ONE FIELD JUST OUT SIDE OF GREENSIDE THEY HAD A BIG RELEASE PROGRAM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND THE BIRDS SEEM TO HAVE ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES THESE BIRDS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CARRION FEEDERS BUT THERE ISNT ENOUGH ROAD KILLS TO FEED THE AMMOUNT OF BIRDS UP HERE, JUST MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT THEY DO FEED ON :whistle: THEY ARE NICE TO WATCH AND THEY HOVER REAL CLOSE UP HERE SO YOU CAN GET A REAL GOOD LOOK GOOD HUNTING ALL WOODGA :ph34r:

mitch you have all the luck ferreting this time of the year we have another 2 months then the season will start again all the lads who do ferreting over the season are going stir crazy but its really good to see that some one is still doing a bit even though im a bit jealous keep the pics coming and your posts a nice read to wet the appetite and thinking of things to come i like the look of that hob he looks just like my albino,s nice size and a bit of weight but fast . i recieved a call yesterday from the farm where i control the vemin the farmers wife was telling me there was rats all over the the main buildings and she wouldn,t go into the yard until they were gone as soon as we pulled up the dogs were out and marked an old stone sink they found two rats under there and both were killed they then marked some potatoe pallets and we had a couple from under there as well we moved a few rocks and the dogs found a few hiding they made short work of them big bast@rds as well they were the dogs cooled off in the cattl

If you make your own nets, hemp is a nice medium to work with and needs to be knotted only once, where as nylon needs double knotting! I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOUR NETS MATE BUT I CAN ASURE YOU MY NYLON NETS DO NOT NEED DOUBLE KNOTS TO HOLD THEM YOU MUSN,T BE PULLING YOUR KNOTS VERY TIGHTLY IS ALL I CAN SAY IV GOT OVER 50 HAND MADE NYLON NETS FROM LAST SEASON SINGLE KNOTTED AND ALL ARE STILL GOOD I SUPPOSE IT MUST BE THE NYLON YOU ARE USING THE STUFF WE GET FROM THE FISH QUAY HOLDS A REAL TIGHT KNOT GOOD HUNTING ALL WOODGA :ph34r:
