Three seperate friends of mine have had good match dogs stolen by travellers in the past. Two were recovered after some "persuasion", the other was run allmost to death and left by the verge of a motorway, later reclaimed from a rescue center. So I suppose you could say travellers have had good match dogs. There was a guy from Essex a travelling lad who had a very good dog that went on to stud several bitches and produced some good stuff.PS I am not particularly anti traveller or anti anyone else just presenting the facts.

Someone asked "what was the point of this competition"?The sportsmanship shown by both these lads answers that I think. Well done to both lads for taking part.

NEVER FEED A DOG JUST PRIOR TO RUNNING IT. This can result in Torsion,a twisted gut, which is very bad news for a dog and not only extremely painful but potentialy fatal.Mine get fed AFTER they have finished lamping.ANYONE DOUBTING THIS SHOULD CONSULT A RUNNING DOG VET.ps , Ive no wish to preach to anyone ,just thinking of dog's welfare.

I voted for Tomo too because I have been out with him and he is a genuine fella and dog man and I havent met any of the others in the competition.Good luck , and an injury free run through for all taking part and ATB to Tomo.

I dilute it half and half with water and use it to fizz out any dirt, but use it just for the initial cleansing ,then ,either salt water, cut and heal, or tcp/savlon.If you use HP ,more than the once it can impede healing ,and keep it away from eyes.

A kindred spirit here? When I see a photo of a line of hares laid out for view with the caption "lamped these last night "or some such ,I feel a bit sad ,irrational I know, its just that ,for me a day time, hare given fair law, is such a terrific adversary for a dog ,and having seen average dogs take them on the lamp, it seems such a waste, the same when I see the results of a night with a rifle.Everyone has the right to conduct themselves in their chosen sport the way they see fit,EACH TO HIS OWN,but ,I can't lamp hares.I may be clutching at straws but I cling to the hope that one day

All the more reason to carry written permission for rabbits, what you do after that !!!!! You would think that goes without saying wouldn't you? Apparently not! permision only proves your allowed on the land hunting doesnt prove what your hunting for cum on lads permision doesnt sort out everything. If you have written permission from the Farmer to take legal quarry ,and are apprehended ,doing just that , and your vehicle is taxed ,mot'd and insured, what more would or could you need?. If you have permission to take rabbits ONLY and you are stopped and found in possession of a deer

So the police stopped you questioned you ,then let you go,then the same police came and confiscated your car ,which you had to pay £150 to get returned to you? I'm sorry this doesn't make any sense. On what basis did they confiscate your car ? Did you make a formal complaint out? If not why not? same happened to a local lad around hear spent 4 days in durahm while it was sorted they did not have a thing on him and when police impound a car they usaly get a garage to recover them then you are liable to pay for the impounding and the recovery of the vehicle even if proven inocent. Are yo

Not all plod know the laws on hunting ,but most of the posts I have read indicate that those pulled up were on land without permission ,so whether they were running rabbits or hares is beside the point really. As to the "guilty ,until proved innocent" theory ,I think where this is most glaringly apparent is under the Badger Act, where the onus appears to be on you to prove you are not guilty. Bottom line if you are on land without permission ,you must expect a tug now and then .Its interesting that the Bill appear to be lumping all coursing people with the term thieves and vandals ,judging by
