  1. I see you are tuning your "shooter "up for the coming season Miles, good on you ! INAN .
  2. Well done Tomo ,looks a good place for a bit of pugging ,and nice and open for some dog work .
  3. Lord Orford put the bull into the greyhounds ,but it wan't Staffie he used it was English Bull terrier. No mate, it was bulldogs that Orford used. English Bull Terriers didn't even exist when he made the crosses. I know a very well respected terrierman and he ratesa particular staff x as the best terrierman's lurcher he's ever seen. You are quite correct ,I meant to say Bulldog, had a senior moment,Orford's famous bitch Czarina unbeaten in over 40 courses carried bull dog blood in her.Thi is believed to be why some sogs had the slightly protuding eyes and predominantly white co

  5. ok iam going to stick my kneck out here and say.....this is a winde up that dog killin 5 healthy good sized foxes without a mark on her and there is blood on the fox but non on the dog sorry but its a big from me,and beleave me iam not jealous and if it did well you have some super dog there mark Fair play Mark ,you have stuck your neck out,but whatever your faults ,as perceived by some, failure to stick your neck out is categorically NOT one of them.Actually I find myself swimming in the same direction as you on this thread.
  6. Bullet death was the first thing that occurred to me ,if I'm honest, but I would not say the man is "mistaken",as I don't know him.
  7. Neither the dog or the foxes seem to be damaged ,apart from a trace of blood on a couple of the Red uns.which Mo does your dog use in taking them?
  8. Mate thats because loads of Dogo are already for long not bred anymore as a huntingdog. The original working dogo is no Catch dog but a hunting dog using his own nose and working without crosses to track the Wild Boar or Puma. They hunt in packs, and walk sometimes for more than 12 to 14 hours beside the horse in Cordoba. The show breeders on the other hand are said to have crossed their dogs with Great Dane, to get them bigger! Is much better selling If you say that most Dogo's are worth shit you are right, but there are breeders who still keep them going as they should be. A few months ago
  9. I had a deerhound x grey ,about 30 years ago ,lovely dog caught a variety of game with him.I was running doubled up in a club for about 10 years there was a nice guy allways had deerhound x's ,You felt you were lucky if you drew him in the first round ,as it meant you would at least get another run ,his bitch was slow ,more like a half cross,he eventually put more speed in there ,via more greyhound blood ,that made his dogs dangerous ,if you got them in the first round, but in the final you were pretty confident on big land ,they had the gears but not the engine to keep it up.I asked him why
  10. None ,I leave them for daylight and decent slips, pre ban of course.
  11. You are making me green Tomo .I can only dream of those numbers ,if I see three I'm doing well.ATB .Inan.
  12. The dog looks 500% better, hope he is ok mentally and is with you to stay now ATB with him Inan.
  13. Nice looking dog, seems you had a nice night out,I oftem wonder how fellas get on carrying big bags I'm stuffed with about 9 or 10 ,but then I'm getting old.Good Hunting!
  14. My mate Andy and I had litter bothers his broke its neck in an orchard running a rabbit and died instantly.I don't know how good the chances of recovery are but I would recommend you get in touch with your local Greyhound Track and ask for their Vets tel no ,contact him and see what he says .I allways take running dogs to running dog Vets ,ie Track vets, for all but the most basic of injuries ,GOOD LUCK!
  15. Just like to endorse your post ,that dog has had a very rough time of it,hopefully he will get some TLC now.
  16. It was a warmish morning ,I put them up there to cool ,and to keep Willow from getting interested, thruth to tell she was a big help, especially as its her first time.
  17. Look forward to meeting up Dunc, now all we need is some rain!
  18. Well if you weren't so tight with the Pot Noodles Stubby he wouldn't have to keep munching on fruit!
  19. Hello Mate I will be in touch when we get some rain to soften the ground,I haven't forgotten about those dvds.Speak Soon Inan.
  20. Left it in the car Steve,it was a nice couple of hours ,a prelude of things to come hopefully ,look forward to some days out pugging in your company this season Inan.
  21. I ran one with the East Of England Club years ago, I think he was the fastest dog in the club in his prime.Very good doubled up dog ,good turner ,for such a quick animal ,very good gob,and good for three courses ,very game, his speed was his eventual down- fall as leading up in a course he didnt see a dyke ,failed to brake and dislocated a foreleg ,he continued the course and only stopped when both dogs were unsighted,he took Fox with great joy,and had a good nose,I wish I had him now I would put him to a 3/4 bred Saluki, and go on from there.ps he was a smooth coated brindle.
  22. Sorry to hear of your loss ,I lost my first Lurcher to parvo virus 39 years ago,he was only 18 months old ,and the Vet didnt know what it was,or how to treat it. The downside of our wonderful partnerships with dogs is the inevitable wound they leave when they go,and it's allways worse when they die so untimely, chin up.
  23. Good man! You have to take every opportunity!
  24. Just for bunnies? Something like Magwitch's Ted, a Mick Brown whippet x Beddie, quick of the mark ,with a good nose and marks true,a ferreter and mouchers companion, imo. You can see a bit of him in magwitch's posts in the ferreting section.Inan.
