    My old mum and dad used to get me the Broon's and Oor Wullie annuals when I was a kid and when I grew into adulthood my "Wee Mrs" took over, when the Auld yins, passed away. There's never a Xmas goes by!! I don't get a Broons or Oor Wullie album, I've also got a few that are older than me! Tom

    Not sure what the connection is with Opus Dei and Scottish Independance, Nationalists or Alex Salmond, its reckoned there's aprox 500 members of Opus Dei in the UK and the only member ever recorded in power was Ruth Kelly in Blair's government , by the way for the conspiracy theorists!     I much prefer the works of Robert Tannahill and Hugh Macdairmid as opposed to Burns, Burns was offered work in Jamaica on a slave plantation as a bookeeper because of his lack of success in farming and because he was in financial difficulty at the time there was little public awareness of the abolition movement which began about that time.
