    Sporans

You can still wear Badger, Otter, Wildcat sporrans as long as they were obtained legally ie: roadkills and you have corresponding paperwork to verify this! or they supercede any legislation because of their age, you dont need any documentation for a fox sporran etc: Dress sporrans would be worn at weddings and funerals, semi-dress sporrans at less formal occasions plain leather sporrans would normally be worn as part of daywear!! Hope the explanation helps Swampy? Tom Ps: check the links below: http://www.katemacphersonsporrans.co.uk/ http://www.katemacphersonsporrans

    Sporans

Swampy you love me replying to your posts that you think have an obvious Scottish slant! deep down I think you harbour feelings of wanting to be a sweaty sock Its not because sporrans are made of sealskin that the EU want to ban them, its because they want to ban all sealskin products!! Sealskin sporrans have been around for a lot more than 100 years and is only one of the many materials used in the making of sporrans? The most tradional is the animal mask sporran( badger, fox otter, wildcat etc:) they are also made from goat skin, deer calf, cowhide or just plain leather! Sporrans are a
  11. You! don't need a gun license to work your dog, but while your dogs working a gun needs to be present to dispatch your quarry (fox) unless your ratting or ferreting (rabbiting) look for another vet give him the letter from the landowner or get a gun to verify in writing he's part of your team while digging to fox Tom

  20. Rohu were a well known family of taxidermists and naturalists http://www.daao.org.au/main/read/6247 related too the famous victorian taxidermist Rowland Ward despite the date on the case it might be an earlier specimem. I'd get it checked out by an expert In 1999 I recovered a Gyr Falcon in a victorian display case that someone threw in a skip while renovating their holiday cottage, I later sold the falcon in 2001 because the wife hated it and would'nt let me put it on dispay it was bought by a company called Natural Craft Taxisermy for 425 pounds and they also paid post and packing
  21. Don't worry my wee southern softie friend, I'll back you up, remember and have your porridge in the morning Yours your tame porridge wog Tom
  22. This is open to misinterpretation ! I don't have a chip on my shoulders, one or both? What I am is! is aware of my own family history, Scottish culture, and have a great deal of pride in my own country's heritage and past, people tend to ignore their own countries history because thats what they were taught. We have the Declaration of Arbroath, England has the Magna Carta, but popular culture allows one!! too seem to take precedent over the other (why) and yet one is reputed to be the forerunner of the American Constitution and the concept of Democracy? and guess what its not the Magna Carta
  23. My Wee Missus is of to a union conference in Dundee till Sunday I was out on the skite/drink today in Edinburgh but tomorrow its my home town of Glasgow and I'm gonna hammer it Tom
  24. Your having a laugh! Swampy me boy and I'm not rising to the bait, this is a shamefull day in Scottish history as Robert Burns said a "nation sold by a parcel of rogues" This was not the will of the Scottish people at the time, in fact there was rioting in the streets of Edinburgh and all the major towns, a minority of Scottish elite sold our independance and nationhood for their own financial benefit and gain , shame, shame, shame we Scots have nothing to celebrate!! why would you?? except to antagonise we dont celebrate this!! obviously you know and care nothing of scottish history or its
  25. Why!! would any true working dog enthusiast bother with this?? when a well respected Scottish Club is having its annual lurcher and terrier show on the same day, with the clubs emphasis on working dogs and no restrictions on docked pups or young terriers that have been docked How stupid is this? it isa direct quote from the latest Countrymans Weekly forthcoming events page re: this Lurcher and Terrier show on the 10th of May at Cardross, "Please note: No Terriers docked after 21 March 2007 to be shown. also there will be no puppy class's" What the hell!! are BASC and the NLRC pla
