  1. I have used my terriers for beating and flushing game and vermin for the last 10 years. At times they can piss off on scent when out of sight and this can be a bit risky if there are earths about but in the main they love being out. Lets face it your dog wants to be with you and be hunting. If i am foxing then they switch on to that,if beating they seem to be tuned into that, i dont know how but they are. I have a Border and a black'un, both have good noses and both are reasonably well trained (ish). In the beating line they are another pair of feet with the added bonus of a nose

    Fireworks

Take the dogs shooting ,my dogs love fireworks keep looking for something dead.
  4. Nowt wrong in that name, why the controversy ? If it was a good enough name for one of our war heros to use for his dog,i refer to Wing Commander Guy Gibson of coarse, the bloke who led the Dambusters, then it's good enough for anyones dog. Unless you live somewhere a bit how do that is
  5. Don't you just hate the things
  6. So the dog has to be fully trained before it is entered on fear of death, something the Patterdale or any other working terrier will do naturally ?

  12. Ahhh Halcyon days indeed, not very often you get that amount of talent in a weight division at the same time. Leonard was my favourite by a mile, what skill.Look at the rest though,Stone Hands Durran,Hit Man Hearns and Marverlous Marvin,no quarter asked given and each one with a different style.Brilliant stuff.
  13. Seriously now,i dont know how you would set about stock breaking an 18 month old Border dog, head strong f'kers best of times. Best get him sorted though before some farmer does it for you eh !

    KALZAGI FIGHT

It was mission impossible from the start. Put a brick privvie in front of a talented, gifted pugalist like Joe Calzaghe and ask him to break his hands on the other blokes thick skull is ridiculous. Good on Joe for beating him though
  15. Talking to a bloke on the wolds last week who kept and worked terriers for many a year, when discussing Badgers(when they were legal) and digging he said, he knew a few dogs that while they were excellent Badger dogs they werent so keen on Fox. Seems strange i thought but then, like a few folk have stated, get a fox in an advantageous position and it will dish out a lot of punishment to a dog that cant get a grip on it, or is new to the game. Seems a bit disrespectful for anyone to say that a fox isnt a test for a terrier though, there's plenty of evidence in this thread to say it is.
  16. Top two have been painting, very talented dogs

Molly the prick (MP) Ian Cawsey, who supposedly does my beckoning in the house of commons, has told me, he intends that every dog is collared and leashed. As he puts it,folk out walking don't want someone elses dog jumping up at them. Big brother is coming to a constituency near you !

    is it me

I take the view that this, or any forum is like a railway pub,you get different folk from all over in it,with different views on just about everything....its a melting pot.

If the conservatives were in power the ban would probably never have happened, whether we will ever see hunting again as before ? i don't know. Will we ever see Badger control in this country with terriers ? i very much doubt it. If we do f*ck all about these idiots in power at the moment we wont be able to walk a dog down the road, let alone let it off a lead.of that i am fairly sure, and when i say dog i mean working dog,not poodle.

From what i understand of the CA & BASC for which i am a member of both, they have to move in these " political circles" to fight the Anti's as this is where they have they're puppets ( Labour MP's in the main). The aim of these clubs, call them what you will,is to protect fieldsports against a twisted enemy who will not be easily defeated. The RSPCA are involved in a massive media campaign against perciefed animal cruelty, that means against anyone who hunts, shoots, coarses, fishes and farts. They are not going to go away and have to be taken on at every level. Have them waste they're
  22. Well the things were classed as "vermin" and had to be controlled as such, whether that is the case with the current wankers(government )i dont know. They are like the Monty Python sketch of the "Spanish Inquisition" no one knows where they will strike next !!! (ass holes)
