  1. Had the same yesterday, rabbits just flying out of the snow! Did the nets freeze up? The rabbits yesterdays just bumped of them and backed down.
  2. Bonus! rabbits without the hassle!
  3. Awesome piccies lads, looks like you have it worse for the weather than we have! Bouncer and Sally have the job sorted, and don't you just hate the collars coming off! How many did the Team Sky take back?
  4. Did you not swear when the fence got you? One of those days mate, you get good one's and then the bad one's follow! A least you were out. Have you got a dog to help you out mate?
  5. Superb, about time we got a happy ending!
  6. This is billy bob the ferret, don't know why one side of his jaw sticks out like this, and did not notice it for a while, but he's from may 2007, bred by me and no he's not inbred! Some of them just have mishaps and problems, but they don't whinge around and give up, he's as good as any good ferret I have had the priveledge of.
  7. Build another cage is the cheapest way!
  8. Thanks fella's, if there are people interested then I will post. Howay Micky lad, hope the justice is coming along. Andy you know if it's too deep i'll go the sensible route. Tiercel yes it was a fun day as every day ferreting is in the short season,(and bloody good luck as well!) Am I off the locater hook now? Akton the nets were dry to start with, but the freeze took over. (maybee i'll write a book in 20 yrs time when I have learnt something!) Stealthy my mate, the old feller is just out of hospital after another fusing of the heart, don't want to put the final nail in just yet.
  9. They are great pictures, ferrets look in good shape, a credit to you.
  10. Nice bag lads! How does the terrier do amongst it all?
  11. It's now 8 days since my last trip out, I'm climbing the walls hoping that the snow would melt, but it's going nowhere. I'm sat at home watching Jeremy Kyle, Trisha and also One Tree Hill (Can't think why!) Every day bored out of my skull. Walked the dog after brekkie this morning at around 9 am and saw rabbit tracks all over the industrial estate where I walk him. Enough is enough. I'm going out even if it is a late start! By the time I had loaded up and travelled up there it was pushing 11 oclock, not an ideal time to start a days ferreting, but at least I was out! Around six in
  12. I've used mine on the rats in the past, usually under pallets and in piles of junk, like Penda says, most rats will just escape and run, thats how they are. Mine got a few nicks and cuts about them, but not half as bad as what happened to the rats if they were cornered!
  13. I've got a ferret looking the same, but he's always looked like that, and bothers him not a drot! Stick with it, if the ferret is not in pain they can heal and cope with most things!
  14. I have 2 hobs to move on, one is good, one is untried. (The untried one is from a late litter.) Not all are rubbish at this time of year, just surplus sometimes when things have worked out better than you thought! (I'm a little to far away though to post them!)
  15. I cannot believe what I am watching everytime I watch this advert, the demanding little stinkpot! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx-bChDLJpE...feature=related No need!
  16. I really like the idea of a dog that has the pace and strength. (Plus don't seem to be dressed up.) Do any of these dogs turn on each other, or are they just one pack? Not really into any type of fighting breeds, just seem's like a pointless life, bred to try and kill your own type rather than true hunting. Seen a few olde worlde piccies of the bulldogs from centuries ago, and they looked similar in frame. Looking at the build/speed/stamina of these type of dogs they would be a step ahead of fighting types, and have a purpose. They almost seem to be playing with the boar rather than loo
  17. Crikey! It's the first time I've watched any serious dogs and i'm completley gobsmacked. I want to move to Argentina right now. Is there any dogs that are better than those? From what i've seen earlier in the thread, all the rest are just messing, wheras these look serious.
  18. Your right about the longents causing less disturbance Pat, more bolt when you have been nowhere near the holes, and they definately don't come out again after they have seen my mug! The snow has stopped me getting out this last week, and I'm dying to get out.
  19. Give them a bit longer to start up if you can CB. They will do the business that early, but i've seen a few switch off through the intense kicking they get, If they are dropping in May then at the least they will be 4 months old by the end of Sept. The second season is when you really see what a ferret is made of!
  20. Here's my thoughts on it for what they are worth, I think some dogs are bred unsound, and for a reason and a job to be done. Unfortunately the same drive we want backfires on us and why we want them. I have an 8 yr old Russel, he's dodged the bullet so many times which i don't want to go into. After all these years i'm almost halfway there in having the dog I want. He cannot mix with other dogs, he's had the chances to socialize, but will nail anything aggresive in his path. His drive is what I wanted, but that cannot be calmed for love nor money, but is what makes him usefull
  21. How many people reading this thread think all dogs can be rehabilitated and will make a sound dog in the right hands?

  23. I'd like a change from the slopes, but it's just a bit far for me on my own, i'm sure there will be a big gang in no time!
  24. Nice to see a polite straight forward chap. Keep it up you have the right attitude, soon you'll be hunting your own bit!
