  1. Yes mate I cut the legs of the jeans anf there ya gave a tunnel. If ya feeling even more creative cut the top and bottom off a big bottle of pop and theres another free tube lolll
  2. I dont put tennis bslls in for mine because they chew at them. Only things I put in id hard plastic cat balls, treat ball, tubes, tyre, hammocks, old pair of jeans, paper bag. Golf balls and kids ball pit balls haha! But with kits just be careful and don't leave stuff in with them when your not there. Ferrets dont tend to chew wood either mate
  3. Kits need as much meat as they will eat. Ive always fed kits 3 times a day in summer (3 small meals of raw meat) and put biscuits down. Only because of flys etc.
  4. why would they be curled under their feet ? perhaps its all the vitamins you give that make their nails grow ? how longs their hair ? Not at all. They get a drop of tone every few week for me to clip them. Their fur is what like a ferret lol. Moulting at the mo but they look healthy. I think id be concerned if there nails didnt grow.
  5. yes only use it when I clip their nails every 2/3 week. Albert64 im suprised their nails arnt curled under their feet, my lots nails get long and they're on concrete floor.
  6. Me either I wont pump chemicals into them if they havnt got anything.
  7. Well I rang the vets and she told me that they have never heard off disposing the vial once opened she told me it was resealable. But alot of people I know have been told this.. Mine charges 9 quid a peice plus consultation and they give 5ml of the drug for a ferret.
  8. I use fleece blankets aswell, not many in this weather though, i put more in or take them out as weather changes. I think you will need to change everything mate, bedding and litter. If you put him a blanket in its bed and put in a cat litter tray in the hutch and you could use paper cat litter stuff in the tray, they usually get the hang of it. Never realy understood realy why people put shavings everywhere, it makes a mess, i use shavings in their trays, and they have a bare concrete flor, slabs, lino in hutch's.
  9. nice job ive got very simlar setup for my two jills
  10. I used this in red http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/607451?utm_campaign=bazaarvoice&utm_medium=SearchVoice&utm_source=RatingsAndReviews&utm_content=Default Its thick stuff and on one of my hutch's ive painted it with exterior clear varnish over the top and its only a cheaply made thing and its making it last. http://www.wilko.com/garden-woodcare-paint/wilko-satin-outdoor-varnish-clear-250ml/invt/0210414?VBMST=varnish
  11. No, dont feed cat food to ferrets especially if you mean wet cat meat its full of jelly shite and they cant digest it. If you're already feeding them dry, give them raw chicken wings on a night the bones are great at cleaning their teeth.
  12. alpha ferret food is cheap http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/Products/HB0090/alpha-ferret-feast-food I also use this and i think its a good price for 8kg and its a good food. http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/Products/HB1336/burgess-supa-ferret-buffet I use tesco value mince, chicken livers (40p a tub frozen section) chicken wings cut up into 3 and then put em into bags and in the freezer.
  13. They are called coop cups on ebay if thats what you mean. I use the ones with the bolt fastener underneath their water bottles
  14. theyre great, neat job not sure mine would of looked same lol! be even better when they get a run on side, dont forget to post pics ..
  15. i got some of this, bought 2 metres for my ferret run, lets light in aswell as keeps them dry. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CRYSTAL-CLEAR-PVC-VINYL-OICLOTH-TABLECLOTH-WATERPROOF-TABLE-PROTECTOR-COVERINGS-/220946295550?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric&hash=item33716ceafe
  16. YES THEY ARE PLAYING. Here are my two jills, vid upside down but this is why i dont like to see ferrets on their own.
  17. The hob will still rag her about as he will be in season, even though she wont be in season. If you get him just get im castrated and you'll be fine.
  18. The spray is fine i use it on mine. You want some rubber gloves, 1 or 2 sprays onto the gloves, dont need much at all and rub through the fur.
  19. I use it but I buy it, not very often cos they only get it as a treat now and then and when im clipping their nails. Mine know when im trying to fob em off with the cheap stuff lol! You can just use olive oil if its just as a treat. Heard of people making their own.. Theese are ingredients Soybean Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Lecithin, Wheat Germ Oil, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Biotin, Mono and Diglycerides, and BHT and Propyl Paraben (as preservatives).
  20. are they getting out of the cage daily?
  21. Cant understand the setup realy, especially if its in the garage with block work around then a perspex top! seems like thats gonna get hot in there, poor ventilation. not very nice for ferrets cant even see out. plus it will smell surley I would of just bought a nice big chicken coop or run and got a large peice of lino put lino down on garage floor and stuck the coop/run ontop. Nice ferret cage, easy cleaning, jobs good and you can move it outside in summer etc.
  22. get them castrated.. will take a few week after castration for hormones to settle, i pay about £55 for mine.
