  1. Cracking looking dog whitser,I'm sure you won't be disappointed in him, they really are a good cross.Keep us posted on his progress.
  2. Back in the 's I had a 191/2 inch Collie greyhound whippet back to a little track whippet bitch, that took many foxes singlehanded day and night, and that includes multiples.
  3. Very good pics well done, and keep e'm coming.......!
  4. Just cut off the lighter connection and replace with two female spade connectors,no inline fuse. And you won't have anymore problems. The less connections the better.
  5. Had a 3/4 once, got a first cross now very pleased with him he's coming along nicely, surprisingly racey for a first cross.22 tts and also looks a lot like my mates Bedlington Greyhound first cross.Hunts well in the daytime and works well on the lamp. My 3/4 was 24 tts.
  6. Had the same sort of problem with a few of mine,so sent them to Deben. They sent them back to me and said that they are just worn out.How they can just wear out beats me,I thought that being a sealed unit that there shouldn't be too much that could go wrong with them. One of mine wasn't that well used either. Now using Bellman & Flint, awesome piece of kit, wouldn't go back to a Deben.
  7. I've had both over the years but only keep dogs now,no seasons to contend with.Just my opinion but you can work a dog anytime, bitches can be a bit hormonal at times and always seen to break season when you have something planned, then it messes up the dogs.
  8. I find them a lot more biddable than the bull crosses also good feet, coat, etc their prey drive is awesome with bags of stamina. They also seem to have a better nose than straight bull greyhounds.
  9. When you say that yours is a year old and reared on Beta Greyhound,I would think that it is a sister to mine, and my dog is only 22 and my mates is about 23 tts. I had pick of the litter and chose the biggest heaviest dog and my mate had the second biggest,it just goes to show that you can't tell at 8 weeks of age lol. I'm well pleased with mine as last week he took is 60th rabbit. He lamps very well and hunts well in the daytime. He is also entering well to other quarry both day and night.
  10. Over 2000 rats in one day with I think it was eight dogs.
  11. That is a blast from the past,we used to use them years back before they brought out the single capped version.Thats showing my age now
  12. They both look a nice type, keep us posted on their progress.
  13. Cumbrian jack its out of Tack and Beano if that sheds any light.Beano is a well muscled bitch but I don't think theres any bull in her.She can be seen bottom right in the pic below.
  14. He looks a nice stamp of dog Eamon should get anywhere.
  15. Tim there is no bull blood in the dog I think its just the angle the pic has caught him at.I can actually span him.
  16. Heres my Foxwarren Russell,I wouldn't call him too weak for the job. There have been a few times this past season when I had wished that he hadn't been quite so hard,as he has had to have a few months off.I also know of one hunt terrierman that sold one of Eddie's on as it was too hard for him.
  17. A pair of crackers there Eamon keep us posted on their progress.Have you any more pics of the Bronze dog?
  18. My old 3/8 5/8 is an outstanding hunting/marking dog for fox.He saves an amazing amount of time and energy as he does all the work.He will be sorely missed when he's gone as everyone keeps telling me.
  19. I have a 3/8 5/8 dog out of Enock he's ten this year, pre ban he was the best day time foxing lurcher that I have seen.He will hunt, find, mark in,catch and draw.I have also taken all other legal quarry with him.My mate has a young 3/8 5/8 from Hancock but from a different sire,as Enock is no longer with us.So it will be interesting to see how he comes on and compares. But he is a very boisterous young dog and definately not shy in any way in fact he's a bit too much at times.
  20. moorman 1 , please except my humble apologies for getting the wrong end of the stick. . Think we can deduce from this so far that you are either open minded enough to realise its what you are capable of doing with the pup that counts OR your the tunnel visioned numb nut that has never tried one just spews out crap about them because you probably havent got a clue about dogs in general, There is nothing wrong with having an opinion just make it an informed one, not just rubbish something because thats what my mate says about them so it must be true. Moletrapper if this is aimed at me then
  21. Nice first post brookie in forty years I see youve learnt f**k all then.Surely its the man on the other end of the lead that makes all the difference. Juckler and DS I couldn't of put it better myself. It's just common sense. As I said each to their own.
  22. Furry ferter what are your standards I have been working lurchers for 25 years or so and had a variety of crosses and my Hancock dog is exeptional at what I do most of with him. Mole trapper I did read the thread properly,I wasn't refering to you. Tote you must of been very unlucky my Hancock dog was picked up @ 8 weeks and is very outgoing with people and other dogs, not at all nervous. These Hancock/Plummer threads are burnt out.Why is it that every time anyone mentions either it starts all this shit.As a working dog man I can admire any type of lurcher or terrier that gets the jo
