    i know mate, lot more to think about when out there, i've been out a few times with a mate and he's also out in the morning with me. hopefully get a few posts up on here now with a few rabbits in the bag as my other permission has been really quite this year.

    It finally arrived today a month after my visit, i'll be like a kid in a sweet shop this afternoon when i'll be looking for my new baby think i already have my eye on the CZ BRNO but we'll see what i eventually walk out of the shop with. Just got over 1000 acres permission last week aswell so you can imagine how ecstatic i am right now.

    Bought this predator 160 brand new in 2007 and reluctantly sold it in march this year, cracking boat, 50hp mariner on and it did 27 knots with ease. gutted we sold it, had some nice fish on her too.

    well looks like i'll try the 10/22 for a few weeks then if it's as good as people say. i was expecting to go straight out and by a cz bolt action but i'll just wait, at least i'll have a slot for one at a later date, thanks for the replies men, Liam..

    thats probably the best thing to do mate, try a few differant rounds see what gives the best groups and at what distances. it's like waiting for christmas waiting for this fac coming, the wife thinks it's funny when i phone home every morning asking if it's arrived yet, like a big kid.

    I'm expecting my FAC on the doorstep any day now and will be on the look out for a .22 bolt action but till i do find the right one i aleady own a semi-auto (will have semi-auto and bolt action on my ticket), but i cant take it out of the gun club till i do get my fac and the range at the club is only about 25 yards so any suggestions where i should be zeroing my scopes? I will be out with the targets the day i get my fac but what range are they reliable out to as many people say they not as acurate as the bolt action. Cheers, Liam..

    THE FIREARMS REGULATIONS 2010 The Firearms Regulations 2010 will come into effect on the 28th July 2010. The effect of the regulations is - on this date - to raise the age at which people in England, Wales and Scotland may purchase or hire firearms or ammunition from the current 17 years of age to 18. There are also changes to the exemptions for lending and borrowing firearms regarding adult supervision of under 18's. There are also changes to Northern Ireland legislation. The regulations stem from the European Weapons Directive 1991 as amended in 2008. The UK are obliged to adopt changes

    cracking fish there mate Thanks mate, Never miss, we fished the banks for Turbot on the tuesday and only had 3 on board all day, another charter boat out there got 17 the following day and reckoned their biggest was 17lbs (some Turbot that mate) so we tried an hour on the way back in on the thurs and i got the only one around 2 lbs, could of went out and hammered the double figure cod every day but we just got a few to bring home as it's pointless killing them just for the sake of a freezer full of fish, i'd much prefere to catch and release once i have a couple for the table, Liam.

    A few pisc of our week on Alderney, fishing numerous wrecks off the French coast with the biggest cod been 17lbs and my biggest at 14lbs 10, loads of tope the biggest 35lbs and mine at 30lbs, great fishing with all 8 of us getting at least 1 personel best and at least 12 differant species caught.

    used to go from poole myself alot but again,many years ago.also caught allsorts from there but still wanting a conger The same trip we got the bass we also got some good ling and one of the lads got a 58lbs conger, now he's 6ft 3 and when he held it up with it's head near his it's tail was still trailing on the deck, awsome fight, got it on video somewhere aswell. John Keggie on Oberon is well worth booking if anyone is fancying a good trip out, cheers, Liam..

    It's not the cheapast trip i've been on but we,ve been all over with this skipper for the last 8/9 year, Poole a couple of times, Oban about 9 times, and Troon, now he's moved back down south we had to give it a bash, been booked over a year so plenty time to pay for it. We got some lovely bass off Poole about 6 year ago and they say Alderney is great for Bass, hopefully get a shot at the tope plus many more.

    Getting picked up at midnight to make the long journey from the north east down to poole harbour on the south coast where we ( 8 of us) will be boarding Oberon skippered by John Keggie then heading of across the channel to Alderney where we will be staying for 7 days and fishing for every one of them for numerous species of fish. Anybody else out there done much fishing over that way, it's been booked for over a year and i cant wait now, had no sleep all night thinking about it, cheers, Liam.,.

    Very similar to you but the rabbit behind got it in the chest/heart, as the front one done a flip with a head shot i noticed the one behind kicking about so ran over to finish it off. That was with 22 air rifle at about 20 yards, i did'nt try for 2 with 1 shot but as they were about 5 sitting quite close together the second one was in the wrong place at the wong time.

    I sent mine off 2 weeks ago and have'nt had a call yet to arrange an interview but i phoned them a couple of days after i sent it just to make sure they recieved it and they did and said they'd be in touch in the next couple of weeks, still waiting but not going to pester them just incase it goes back to the bottom of the pile.

    Don't wait that long, give it a couple of days and phone to check everything arrived ok. Just puts your mind at rest. Get on the blower, they're not ogres at the firearms dept. phoned up today just to put my mind at ease and the application forms have arrived and the lady said i should be getting a call in a couple of weeks time to arrange a visit, feel alot better no i know the ball is rolling. Definatly not ogres, i've phones a few times while filling my forms in and they helped me out alot, very nice people, (ponteland office).

    This is more common than you would think. If the forms aren't sent recorded they seem to get 'lost', I know mine did and I know of a few others too, plus yours, hmmmm a pattern occuring ? You's have got me worried now men, was going to send it recorded but just sent 1st class, i probably could of even handed it in personally as i work about 5/6 mile away from the ponteland HQ where i sent my forms to. i'll start panicking if i havent heard anything in a couple of weeks.

    Well my referee's are just a work mate (joiner) who i have worked with for 12 years and the other was going to be my site agent but changed at the last minute to a friend i have known for a few years and has sgc and recently fac. Application got sent earlier this week, safe is on the wall, just waiting for the phone call to arrange a home visit/interview.

    I already have or had my reference's sorted till i just read elsewhere that your referee's must be immediate family/relation, is this correct because it doesnt state this on any of my forms. I always thought it could'nt be a family member. I have my workmate of 12 years and my boss who i've worked under for the last 5 years. It does make a bit sense though as the questions it asks are for someone who obviously knows you well. ps, i'm just a thick joiner and paperwork has never been my strong point, it's worse than been back at school but at least i get something worth while at the end of it a
