  1. You sure they weren't just eating the caecotrophes from a dead rabbit? as rabbits will get no nutritional value from meat as they are strict herbivores. It is a common thing for rabbits to do this. Just saying as I have done 2 years of animal care at college and done a lot on rabbit behaviour and nutrition, and never heard of a herbivore prey animal eating the flesh off of another. Joe

I don't know him but even if he was an anti (from reading his posts, I don't personally think he is an anti) , what you got to hide? I do everything legally and anyone that posts illegal stuff is a bit of a twat so why worry about other people, just do what you do and dont post illegal content. Joe
  3. Doubt it as this area we ferret is only ferreted by me and the burrow that I have seen this on is within sight of the farmers house so I would highly doubt it was poaching. Joe
  4. The parts of hertfordshire I'm at is fine, haven't seen myxi in 2 years and none this year so far. Joe
  5. I saw on your profile your on the herts border? Where abouts was it that this roughly as I have had the same thing happened to once or twice around the Herts/Beds border. Don't think it's mink as theirs no water about. Might be stoat though as I have seen a couple. JoeD
  6. Done a whole term on pygmy hedgehogs and sugar gliders as pets in college, they are great little pets but only if you know what your doing, deffinately not pets for kids that will get bored of them, just like any exotics. Joe
  7. Fantastic trophies there would love to give some of them a go one day. Joe
  8. I agree with keeping traditions and all but this one should be stopped in my oppinion, then again, how do we know the journalist didn't over exagerate about what she saw. Joe
  9. Good luck and post pictures if you can, it's always nice to see what other peoples land is like
  10. I would say ebay is best if not ask on here and people might be able to make you nets (more expensive but in my oppinion better) But the cheapest place to buy locators (if you choose to use one) is deffinately ebay. Joe
  11. Lovely pictures, be proud of those do you sell your photos as I wouldn't mind a print of one of these hunts. Joe
  12. It happens i'm afraid, don't stop telling people your out doing what your doing though as it will save hassle if you ever get a visit from the plod or something. And as long as you have permission she can't do f**k all, so if she does set her dogs on you then you have every right to protect yourself and that means restraining that dog or worst, also if she pays for the paddock off of the owner then get the owner to have a word with her. Joe
  13. No problem at all, that what this forums for Joe
  14. I would say gin as I like my gin but both are nice. Joe
  15. Good one mate, bet your chuffed, hopefully one of many. Joe
  16. 1 - No you need permission anywhere you hunt otherwise it is poaching, this includes common lands and public footpaths as everything is owned by someone. 2 - No not really they can pick up canine distemper but this is quite rare. 3 - The bigger the size the better, a hutch will do just make sure the mesh is strong enough so that the ferret can't bite through as they are little escape artists. 4 - I would say outdoors as they do have a distinct smell, especially hobs (males) saying that it is personal preference and people do keep ferrets indoors. And thats about it. Joe
  17. What can I say except for...I cant wait for the ferreting season to start up properly

  18. I would like to make one, and maybe one day, I have done archery before and it is always fun and so would like to get back into it one day. Out of curiosity what did/would you use your bows for? as it is illegal to use them for hunting in the UK. Joe
  19. I believe that something is out there but what or who I don't know, I don't class myself as an atheist but then again I am not part of a religion, I would consider myself a christian but then again, I don't go to church or pray, so I don't know what you class me as. Joe
  20. They are completely safe to feed the ferrets, the disease ONLY effects other rabbits. Joe
  21. I sell to the butchers and it all depends one butchers I sell too gives me £1.50 skinned and gutted, whereas another gives me £3 skinned and gutted. I want to try and find a pub/restaurant to sell too this year though as I would think they charge a £ or 2 more. Joe
