  1. Blooming heck I did wonder about over penatration but didnt realise it would be on that scale. Thanks for clearing that up ill stay away from FAC .177 then! many thanks for your friendly advice
  2. good luck and look forward to your report, snow is great to help find occupied warrens.
  3. Browsing topics on phones proberbly doesnt help, every time Iv pressed on a topic iv ended up on someones profile
  4. Iv seen an old and bad oil stain cleaned off caravan fibreglass by MEK solvent. dunno if that helps? but maybe worth a mention.
  5. Hi pianoman sorry to bother you but I noticed you have 2x .177 air rifles do you use either of theese at FAC power levels too? and if so how do these peform? I have wondered about how .177 FAC airguns peform a few times. cheers Tom.
  6. looks like a blackbird landed on both feet, and hopped along on both feet. The mark around the prints are its body as its legs wherent long enough for the depth of snow so they marked around them. Thats my guess anyway
  7. FAC airgun is a great tool and to me more enjoyable than .22 rimfire because of worrying about the higher chance of a ricochet, that and the fact I love airguns! My FAC is purely for airguns and the application form where it says what cal you want just write FAC airgun, thats all I did and it was fine on my application. Its not much of a pain but just a bit of waiting that is frustrating. As long as you have been well behaved and have suitable land then I cant see there been much of a problem. On my application I needed another FAC certificate holder to take me out, watch me use there gun
  8. + 1 They really are a bag of shite that are more for garden plinking than as a hunting rig, I've had the odd one for a laugh now and again and its like shooting with an elastic band ! well said, just like a rifle version of a gat gun for the kids.
  9. makes the beam tighter and shine further . If that's the case an there easy to fit ill order one an give it a try already have light so just needs the glass. well worth worth doing considering they are so cheap, many people are happy with them as standard but the lens definately helps. personally i use a hand held lamp or headlights to find the rabbits and then use the red led torch to shoot them, they tend to be a lot less lamp shy with one of theese
  10. True. Dont think he is trying to offend anyone tho. They are a great intro gun for plinking cans ect and set many people off into a lifetime hobby of of air guns just like the legendry. gat gun did. You get what you pay for, which is a rifle for the price of a budget scope. Cant fault them for what they cost. We Cant expect good groups but lots of fun for there price.
  11. On it now watch out dangerous past time beer on tap! Saves money and very satisfying trying new kits out tho. Wilkos got some good kits in.
  12. No problem 19powel90, have you blacked out your refractor aswell? it makes another vast improvement. If you want to try it but dont want to risk ruining your existing refractor then you can buy one for next to nothing to try it. I would reccomend you do it it makes the torch even better! you can order a spare refractor to try it on the link below. I blacked mine out with a black permenant marker instead of spraying it black and it worked a treat http://dx.com/p/26-5mm-aluminum-reflector-drop-in-module-set-without-emitter-5955
  13. If anyone is interested in making a modded ultrafire 501 B torch then link to the lens is: http://dx.com/p/glass-optics-for-flashlights-28mm-5297 Remove the old one and fit this, It might need a little sanding to go in but thats easy. I did mine in 2 mins on the doorstep An ultrafire 501 red led torch with tail switch is really cheap about 12 pounds on ebay. remove the refractor and spray it matt black (unscrew from the led bit first so you dont paint over the led bulb) this makes a massive improvement and put back together as it doesnt spill the light. This mount fits perfect
  14. I use a diy modded ultrafire 501b with red led, blacked out refractor, curved glass lens it is awsome it lives on my scope permenantly. Would reccomend one of theese above anything else iv tried.
  15. Theese generally go for around £250, I have a soft spot for theese so keep an eye out for them. there was one in my local gun shop for this also with a few marks on it. Its a hard thing to do when you have to part with your pride and joy guns during hard times, Iv had to do it several times myself and its abserlutely great to hear that you got yourself a bargain! atb Tom.
  16. I teather my laptop to my android phone via usb im on pay as you go with three. 15 pounds per month so get free internet to my laptop!
  17. Hi all just a quicky has anyone used a HID lamp with red filter on, and if so did it cut the beam down much more than using one on a standard halogen lamp? Many thanks Tom.
