From this week... Don's executive order to drill for oil in an Alaska has been thrown out and Obama era environmental protection rules resume. Don claims the noise from wind turbines causes cancer. Don's no longer so enthusiastic about the public seeing the Mueller Report.

When I was driving home last night listening to the world service they were saying May is trying to bring in Corbyn to work on a deal?! What the actual f*ck?!
-
It's certainly got me going again and now my work schedule is calming down a bit that's helping too. I've been on O/T for nearly 10 months and any kind of planning and special diets goes out the window! Not local but I've been out shooting them. Utah has a $50 bounty on the lower jaw and the scalp so it helps pay for the trip!

Know them well! I could hold it for 4 count. Did you ever attempt No4?

The Western Meadowlarks are back so the seasons are changing. Seen my first Turkey Vulture of the year too and they're early but welcome. Local news has just reported that the ultra rare California Condor is nesting in Zion National Park which means I'll be heading out there before the tourists turn up for the summer. It's a good start to the spring!

Hounds for grounds again. I was always an owl as opposed to a lark when it came to routines. F*ck that crack of dawn exercising! It's just turned 0100 here in Utah. I came off a 15 hour shift running from Las Vegas out to Cali and back to Utah. Managed a few lifts before I logged in here. I live in the middle of nowhere so banging and clanging in the small hours isn't bothering anyone except the coyotes!

Was is the operative word. I do feel like a hypocrite talking about it these days, though. Wife, kids and life took over but now my lads are getting older they want to get into it so I'm getting back in too. I just work on being better than I was yesterday, slowly getting it back! The trick, I've found, is to leave the ego in shed and get into it. Struggling with weights I used to throw around for fun is a real humbler but that's a challenge I'm alright with.

Failure means you can't physically lift it anymore. No. Start with the bar. If it's easy stick a couple of pounds on each side. Repeat. There are no daft questions, mate. This is one of those topics where everyone is usually very helpful as opposed to the usual shitposting. Ask away.

Harsh, Tomo! Harsh!

That's a fair one, mate! I f*ck*ng hate that gym culture and I think this is the first time I"ve ever posted in a THL health and fitness discussion. I generally stick to reading them as there are folk far more knowledgeable than I. Sandy called it above start gradually and work up. It's all about being better than you were yesterday.
-
Free weights generally target multiple muscle groups at the same time. Machines tend to isolate specific muscles. There's an enormous amount of bullshittery in the fitness industry and it's worth billions. Do a bit of research into what you want to achieve. THL actually does have a ton of genuinely knowledgable people on this one. I've read some really good posts on training over the years. He didn't unfortunately. If he had I could have placed and then gone on to the nationals, I'm certain.

I did that earlier on too. If you're looking at competing that's the way to go because you're attempting to max out on big singles. I also switched back to doing lower weights and higher reps and I fully agree it's better all around. My problem was never the training it was the diet. Eat sh*t look like sh*t!

Going back to the OP and what Gnash mentioned earlier too it naturally elevates testosterone as well which helps with a lot of the issues mentioned. That's not to say it's a miracle cure for low T but we do keep demonstrating that diet and exercise plays a huge part nulling a lot of the modern diseases facing the west.
-
I don't know if I want to get into that kind of internet bullshittery before I have to go to work this morning! I will say that at 25 I flew over to the US to compete in the USAPL Regional Raw division. Salt Lake City Utah. I placed 5th.

That's a fair one, mate, but don't rule them out completely. Indeed muscle does weigh in heavier than fat but better muscle density improves metabolism overall and will help you shed fat faster. It's not necessarily about what you weigh more the quality of the weight you're carrying. I was an egg chaser for the best part of 20 years and my knees, ankles and fingers are f*ck*ed but surprisingly I've found that lifting has helped to alleviate a lot of the seasonal arthritic pain I was getting in the cold winter months. I doubt either of us have the discipline or the drugs to enter the Tour

Back when I lived in the old country the Brocock ban had just come in. The way it was worded in the press read like all airguns were going on ticket. I was in a certain air rifle shop in the North West and their phones were ringing off the hook from people who wanted to get rid of their airguns and because the store wouldn't buy them they'd hand them into police. They were literally spending the entire day telling people that it was only the Brococks that were going. While I can agree with what you're saying most Brits will hand them in. The hatchet job that has been done on airguns in Br

That's kinda where I ended up. The meds treat the symptoms but they may not cure the problem if you don't give up what might be making you sick in the first place. But... hounds for grounds and all that...
-
It's hard to say, mate. Internet doctors are 10 a penny but you need a real one to run the tests and tailor the best advice for you in your situation. I will add to that I've been lifting since my teens and I find my bouts of health decline are noticeable when I stop. +1 on what Gnash says above.
-
I did for a little bit but I got the nausea, vomiting and acne side effects. I started lifting heavy again and while my T isn't what it was like in my teens it's much higher than it was before. Again results vary but certainly explore diet and exercise as well as medication.
-
Androgel? Both, but like with most things results vary for the individual.

Can anyone identify this bug, found today in my son's garden

Question, gentlemen. What is the probability that both sides disarmed fully after the Good Friday Agreement? As I understand it former paramilitaries have been extremely influential in keeping the youngsters away from re-igniting the violence but as time passes their influence is waning. I'm certainly no expert on the troubles and I usually read the comments of those more versed than I but I do see a hard border as a potentially explosive chapter in Ireland's future, if this is the case. So for those more educated in these matters what would you say is the likely outcome?

It's their ability to deflect blame that is their true shining star. There's always something else that is at fault but if you follow the incompetence back to the source you usually find that person has 'MP' after their name.
