  1. Personally I've done my fair share of cat trapping. Nothing like Domestos to get the piss out of the back of the van. The last job I did, with regard to feral cat removal, was from a woman who's new born child was born blind in one eye, due to toxoplasmosis carried by the feral cat population. She spent hours cleaning cat shit from her vegetable plot and contracted it through contact with the faeces. Live trap and then humane disposal.
  2. They're set up with those pellets, at the factory.
  3. Try some different ones to see which you prefer. Personally I've used H&N Field & Target Trophies with good results. I'm also a fan of the RWS Super H Points.
  4. No, but, yeah, but, no, but, yeah, but, no, but, yeah but I know because I'm not wasting police time because you know Micha? Well, she saw the whole thing, right, because she was bunking off school because she was gonna go down the wimbley and get off with Luke Griffiths, only she never because he's been trying to grow a moustache but it just looks like pubes, so she got off with Luke Torbet instead, only don't tell Bethany that because she's fancied Luke Torbet ever since she flashed her fanny at him during Home Ec... Can you be more specific?
  5. Purely from a PC stand point... what baiting program are you going to consider with all that seed lying around??
  6. I've always done this with magazine fed rifles but was still unsure of the technicality. Like Grim said we're all still learning despite shooting for over 20 years! How many people here phone the police HQ before they go out shooting?
  7. Agreed! I dropped Accupells over RWS pellets. I've got better things to do than spend my entire non-shooting time cleaning my rifle in preparation for my shooting time. I know there are field target shooters that clean and weigh every individual pellet... but I have a life and anything that cuts down on maintenance is bonus.
  8. A pest isn't a pest because of what it is... it's a pest because of where it is. In a basket is fine but I'm not going to sit idly by and allow the local moggy to waste the local goldfinches. I'll leave the snaring advice to those that really know what they're talking about, and they know who they are!
  9. Oh look... an online petition from the CA
  10. Shit innit. Bucket loads of dog legislation but we're scratching our heads when it comes to songbird predation.
  11. Best bet is to check with your local police and see what their interpretation is. They might be happy with that.
  12. Get out there! You won't get rich doing PC work over here! Why do you have to do 6 years in their army?
  13. United Pest Managers Of Australia http://upma.**"£$%^&*(44.com/index.cgi You'll need to know your insects, out there.
  14. Hello. My name is Chris and I'm your moderator for the duration of our journey. Airgunning has always been my passion and I've been a member of The Hunting Life since it was first created in late 2004. In my years in the sport I've been privileged to work in and around the industry. Test it's products and use them in my pest control career. Having said that I'm far from an expert in shooting and I'm here to learn as well as share my knowledge. It's been a pleasure to moderate this forum. The posts have been great reading and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I've learned alot in the la
  15. I've always cleaned the exterior of the rifle to prevent rusting. Mud and moisture don't go well, with bluing, and added humidity can turn a mint rifle into a pile of scrap very quickly. As far as internal cleaning goes I tend to leave it until my zero is effected. If it's shooting fine, why change it? Only you can tell what your standards are and if your rifle is consistently hitting them, then why risk a variable and then have to frantically get used to shooting your gun again. Confidence in your kit is everything to making a decent shot.
  16. The last dealing I had with an ARU was a positive one. It was in a gun shop and they were checking up on a suspicious character seen loitering nearby. I asked the question about this and they told me to keep the gun unloaded. Pellets in one pocket. Empty magazines in the other. That was their interpretation of the law and they said that tended to act based on the events at the time. Basically, to subdue, arrest and then let the technicalities be argued by lawyers as it's their duty to act on the fly. His argument was that while airguns aren't generally viewed as personal defence/attack
  17. I hear you but they will always have that right now, and it's never going to be removed. Get used to the idea that the CA never were and never are going to be the saviours of the countryside.
  18. Frankly I'm sick of contacting the CA about anything. They don't reply but do regularly send me marketing leaflets for donations, membership etc. Infact the time I contacted them to check an online petition, to the Hunting Act, they did so. Did they support it? No! They set up their own and split the vote between the two diluting what would have been something pretty special. The day the CA represent the average hunter and don't spunk donations on nice salaries and champagne for the gamefairs is the day I just might start to gravitate towards them again. Afterall we all managed to
  19. Of course you're quite within your rights to say nothing at all.
  20. The ban won't be repealed. The drinking driving ban, smoking ban or hunting ban for that matter. With the amount of public uproar, on the waste of government time taken to draft it, no political party would dare approach it again... All your CA donations are spent on champagne at the game fairs. They have less clout than LACS.
  21. For f's sake don't go in there without legal advice.
  22. Thanks for your support guys. It genuinely pleases me to see and read your posts on this thread. I'm usually pretty thorough with the moderating but a few weeks ago my laptop packed in and with the run up to Christmas I'm not exactly flush enough to buy another... that means I'm on limited access via a borrowed computer. That means shit like this can slip through as I'm not here as often as usual. As anyone will know, who's had dealings with me in the past. I'm pretty fair when it comes to moderating and I answer every PM except death threats. Those we laugh about in a private foru
  23. As many of the regulars will probably be aware, I haven't been around much because of limited computer access. The first chance I get to log in and I find some tit spouting off about shooting foxes with air rifles. The last time we had this discussion I invited our members to make a case for air rifles and fox control, over more suitable rim fires and centre fire rifles. No one could. They are not suitable for this kind of pest control. However, and in the spirit of fairness, I accept that our recent contributors weren't around when this kicked off and certainly won't have wade
