I sensed he was a bit odd but i was going through a rough patch with the mrs at the time she was bollocking me about not being all that nice to people i didnt know so when i kept swerving him after i met him she got on my case about it.....so it was all her fault ! Strange lad though he was one of these who had absolutely no tact and just came out with whatever was on his mind,i dont know if its called aspergers but its definately something......we had a meal after the footie and a pal of mine walked in,he,s a big lad with a f****d up eye and a big scar going through it,quite a nasty look

Plenty of fighters get outclassed and dont have much natural flair it doesnt stop them going to the top....Rocky Marciano was a terrible boxer but he didnt do too bad.

Yep i gotcha im starting to suss this stuff now i think im probably making the mistake of looking at the Lurcher as 1 breed instead of what it is,a cross.....different jobs for a different type of Lurcher i follow.....another mistake ive always made is looking at it like hunting should be fair ?.....never been able to take the competetive head off thats my problem ! Cheers for thrashing it out chaps im only after learning shit not starting shit ?

Good for you chief....how long at a time are you gone ?.....and what type of landscape ? I was reading about these ranger chaps in and around the Yellowstone National Park whos job it was to literally roam about looking for dead or stranded people they would be away for 6 weeks at a time....not one of these types are you ?

Oh no your not one of them are you ?....ive had this discussion a lot over the years and it always comes back to the same excuses.....look,Tyson was a great puncher,he was a great intimidator,he was a great finisher..........but he wasnt a great fighter. The reason he looked invincible early in his career was because nobody fought him back he had guys so intimidated the fights were like exhibitions......every opponent that wasnt intimidated and fought him back hard he lost to.

He,s had a few injuries to get over and a couple of little lifestyle adjustments but he,ll stick at it... i never expected him to reach world level but i think a British title is within his grasp over the coming years.

I wouldnt disagree......but....if he did manage to take Tyson a few rounds he would probably beat him....im of the opinion that Mike Tysons ability early on was so great that his fighting heart never got tested......and then like i say every time he met resistance and his fighting heart was tested....he simply didnt have it.

Oh of course he did it to sell himself as many fighters have worked an angle thats not the issue....my issue was when this street thief with a silly voice mocked and humiliated Nigel Benn for being a rough street kid and carried it on his entire life....and i truly believe his selfish ego has cost his kid a potentially great career.

The fight went pretty much as i thought i did think Eubank would stop him late but he has a fighters heart Degale he actually looked better than i thought as id been told he was virtually a shot fighter.....its so frustrating with Eubank he should be so much better than he is i blame the father completely that lad has everything except technique.....and how can a kid whos father was a world champion lack technique for f**k sake !!

Im sure he was only mucking about ?....as Lencharrster said its a long running joke apparently. Anyway theres nothing technical about basic tap and run its how you score points in the amateurs and at nearly 7 foot tall its hard to beat....fortunately in the pros you,ve got to make a dent ....the judging in the pros isnt about touching your opponent with a scoring shot its about impacting your opponent 1 solid left hook to the body can score higher with judges than 10 ineffective scoring jabs its what sets apart pro and amateur boxing.
