  1. Ta mate....makes sense.....im kind of lost with the whole licence/badges thing i dont really understand how beyond dough, what puts you onto the next level it all seems like exploitation to me....coaching i think is an individual thing beyond the basics i dont think you can teach someone to coach any sport.
  2. I dont know if its truth or a load of ol bollocks but its fascinating shit.....i can see the interest/hobby in it all its just whether the interest is to suit the hobby or the hobby to suit the interest ?
  3. Wilf answer me this....whenever i hear all this " b badge " and " a licence " stuff regarding footie coaching it always gets me thinking the same thing....and im sorry to use boxing as a comparison but its the only sport i know enough about coaching.....but sometimes a fighter will go with a new trainer and immediately see better results in the ring, usually because the new coach has seen things the old coach didnt.....its never because of how to throw punches or the basics as normally pro athletes are too far down the line for that.....so with these different badges and licenses is there a dan
  4. How do you mean use Google earth to find the spot mate how does that work ? surely to do that you,d have to have a pretty good idea where it is anyway or am i not understanding
  5. How much of that do you think is down to Southgate giving them the opportunity though ?.....what i mean is did we always have good youngsters who were just not being given the opportunity or are these just an exceptional bunch that are around now ?
  6. I think i told you before i was over there at a kids tournament talking to a coach who was telling me one of their rules throughout junior football was that tackling was not allowed until they was 15 or 16.....and they only played on half sized pitches till that age as well.....whether its still like that now i dont know but when you watch players like Bergkamp,Robben,Van Persie even to my limited knowledge you can see coaching....bundles of ability of course but coaching in a general way of how the game should be played from young.
  7. Teddy Sheringham does a few of these after dinner talks and tells a story about the pal of mine i was on about and how he used to go around the dressing room before a game threatening players that if they shirked a tackle during the game he would break their leg in training ?.....his own team mates were literally terrified of him, compare that to todays " arm round the shoulder " mentality and its no wonder the game has gone the way it has. Wilfs right you cant be friends with your opponent during the heat of battle i hate seeing the over friendly reaction some players have helping each ot
  8. I think from grass roots right the way to the very top we could learn a lot from Dutch football id expect Ajax to put on a good display of how the game should be played win or lose i know they,ve been having a cracking battle with Eindhoven for the league im really looking forward to that game could be a 6 - 5 ?
  9. Is the technology not out there to make a picture like that clearer ?....surely the stuff ol bill use must be available to the everyday Joe....no ?
  10. Thats as convincing as ive seen.....what the f**k else could it be !
  11. oh right ok my mistake i knew it was one of the important players.
  12. Am i right in thinking Salah is out of the first leg because of suspension ?....i wish they would do away with that daft law why should cards get carried over to the next round its stupid.
  13. I never rated Barton as a player i thought him and Robbie Savage were very similar, both trying to be hardman type players in an era that doesnt need hardman type players....an old pal of mine played at the highest level in the 80,s and was classed as one of the hardest players of his era and we,ve had the conversation many times he rates players like Souness ,Jimmy Case,Julian Dicks far tougher players to get in a tangle with than Vinnie Jones,Pearce or the other toughies of the day he always says theres a big difference between hard players and erratic players anyone can jump in 2 footed on s
  14. I dont really follow foreign fighters or Yank fighters very much but having seen Crawford fight a couple of times i would imagine this will probably put the lid on Khans career i dont think he has that many miles on the clock as the ko,s he has suffered have been quick brutal knockouts rather than sustained beatings but i just dont think he has the structure or reflexes for a hard fight anymore.

Theres a cracking boxing gym at the base of Mount Tiede a lot of the fighters used to go there for their altitude training....the Tko its all gone a bit poncey these days as they,re having to get dough in from tourist trainers ive been there a number of times to just re - set and cleanse the soul in an idyllic setting.
  16. Great atmosphere though im sure you,d agree ? What a fantastic game that was last night i still cant make up my mind if Var is for the better or worse, but much as i hate Spurs im glad City are out their fans make me wanna puke with this " we,re so humble, please like us " mentality.....id love to see Liverpool go on and win it i was up to see the Hammers at Old Trafford on Saturday and a couple of old scouser pals of mine took me to Anfield on the Sunday it was superb and made me quite jealous i wish i could of supported a club like that ?....infact i hope Liverpool do the double....Barcel
  17. From my experience years ago the Eli dogs carried a higher percentage of manny dogs than most particularly the Spike/Nelis/Tug dogs that were in Britain and Europe in the 80,s dogs like Smuggler,Neilson,Dillenger were all nerve racking to be around.....plenty dogs of the breed i met were stubborn and just couldnt be backed down by humans but some of those Eli dogs were outright hostile and didnt take much to tip them over the edge, personally i think their record in Europe would have been even better had they been more people friendly.....its virtually impossible to put condition on a manny dog
  18. Wearing a weightlifting belt for manual work is a terrible idea......if a belt is doing its job it should limit your movement.....a back support yes but not a belt.
  19. He,s a good chap who knows his manners mate i wouldnt have him around if he didnt family or not ? If and when you get back into the birds Fireman he,ll sort you out some birds no question about it.....its a smashing little hobby i found it really enjoyable watching how nature works close up it was almost a privilege to keep them.
  20. No of course not id rather be attacked by 2 each of the breeds you mentioned at the same time rather than 1 switched on and focused bulldog....hence they are not a breed that many people should own.
  21. Thats right bless ya you gave him a pair of birds didnt you im terrible around names if i dont hear them regular ....he,s doing great with them mate he did try to contact you a few times but could never get hold of you i ended up giving him my whole shed, aviary, birds the lot he really enjoys it all he,ll be my entry back into them when the times right ? No get them back up mate women are easily replaced ?
  22. I dont agree with that i think its a lot harder to make a bulldog bite human flesh than people think i believe with a true representative of the Apbt bred solely for the pit man biters are born not made.....and they are born simply because nature isnt perfect.
  23. They have their fair share of gangbanger rap video monstrosities as well mate......while its fair to say they have managed to preserve some good lines of proven competition dogs as has Europe in small numbers it would still be naive to think they dont have just as many if not more " useless bull type things " as we do.
  24. I used to get slated on here for saying the very same thing.
