  1. Just ignore them then, you can block people as well
  2. Mark don't leave the site, it's only the net. You won't meet most of the people on here anyway
  3. I could do with a few of them, Mark after reading this thread I'd never go digging with you
  4. No the pups will be a mix of brown and black, plus whatever else is in the blood line will come out
  5. Excellent offer John, if I'm not working I'll have a trip down
  6. Welcome to the site, pheasant season is the 1st of october to the 1st feburary. You will need permission off the farmer/land owner to take game. The only license you will need is your shotgun certificate as there is no game license in england
  7. At 8 months he is still a bit young but like I said you are more than welcome to a bit sport up here, ferreting or lamping, just remember with him being young not to expect too much as all pups are different
  8. Let her chase a few so she gets to know there scent, I used to take mine out with the air rifles as well to retrieve the shot game. Good luck with her and let me know how she gets on
  9. I just took mine to places where there was rabbits and let her teach herself when she was stock broken. As for marking holes it is different with every dog, some will stare in to the hole others will dig. Mine would just stare in to the hole and she wouldn't leave till we had put the ferrets in or bolted a fox with the terriers. She retrieved a fox back once in front of the farmer who had caught us poaching but he was ok and I ended up with the permission. I'll try to scan some pics in of the old bitch, I would have another one if a decent one came up
  10. That one you had was a good size mate, it is what you put in to them that counts
  11. A decent bred deer/grey or deer/grey x collie/grey will take everything you want mate, I don't like the skinny saluki's either but my pup is a saluki cross
  12. I don't mind either, sometimes it's nice to have some company and other times I prefer to be on my own
  13. Upload them to photobucket, then copy and paste the 4th code (img) into your post
  14. Good luck finding someone Gavin, if you were closer I would of took you out. If you are ever up newcastle way drop me a message and I'll sort some hunting out for you
  15. I used to have a staff/lab, she had a excellent nose and was as game as they come. She would push through any cover and kill foxes for fun. She was funny with some dogs though, maimed a few lurchers and terriers in her 15 years
  16. We will sort something out Luke, I'll get the op a night out first
  17. I'll phone my mate now and then message you, with yours still learning we will stick to rabbit fields
  18. Sorry I haven't been in touch, had to do a complete reinstall of windows, I'll see if my mate is up for a trip out this weekend if you want
  19. Ashington, it's about 14 miles north of newcastle. You are more than welcome to bring the dog up ferreting or lamping
  20. I certainly wouldn't tether a rabbit up in the middle of a field, I tend to set my dogs off ferreting then lamping with other dogs, the pup can watch the older dogs on and learn that way, if you don't know anyone with a experienced lurcher you are more than welcome to a few trips out with us, just north of newcastle
  21. No mate you would have to ask the local council for permission
