  1. The dog really depends on the lie of the land ie where the warren is,my lurcher is great if the rabbit bolts into a field as she is a greyhound/deerhound /collie and very similar to greyhound looking so a open field means she will nail them if there is a lot of cover then she is not so good,i would cover every whole and let the dog nail them in the nets to get an idea of whats going on,bound to be some hidden bolt holes so she should get a run at a few...good luck and take no notice of the put you down society on here

  5. Cant understand when people ask questions why there is so much abuse,i think some people on here are so damn elitist it's untrue, think they know everything and think they got the right to be judge and jury, why can't people just give advice and be a bit more friendlier, after all we all started knowing nothing and i think the people who do know their stuff should help educate the one's that don't,even sometimes if it may be what they consider a silly question otherwise we just gonna scare all the new starters/youngsters away.
  6. Trespassing i believe is not a criminal offence but i think that trespassing in pursuit of game ie rabbits is..in other words you cant get arrested for going on the land ..only if you are poaching...but am sre somebody knows the details...

  10. Hi All, Thanks to all those who took time to give some proper advice but as usually some people have got to have a go,the lurcher is defo not a dominant dog,and the pat has been fine with her until now, even if i got a kennel i couldnt be keeping them apart all the time as they usually work together,i was only asking for some ideas as they both been fine up to now...will keep them apart for a bit and see how things go cos i would be gutted to get rid of any of them i also have other dogs so if me pat keeps going for her i dont think i would be able to trust her,she always been totally submissi
  11. Hi All, My 2 year old patterdale bitch suddenly attacked my lurcher the other day for no reason, she was out to do some serious damage and took me all my strength to stop the attack, since then she has been eyeing her up for another go,anyone any ideas, she is ok with other dogs in the house but as always been funny with strange dogs but these two have been together since they were pups,am thinking she may be coming into season and has singled out the lurcher bitch as a threat, strange thing is she seems particularly interested in her ear for some reason (am wondering if lurcher may have ear infe

  22. You can get cheap battery's but just put the battery number in to e bay instead of searching for ferret finder batterys, always test them first and take spares for collar and locator, make sure you take them out when finished as leaving them in drains them,i think the new locator comes with a on/off switch......so its a personal choice really cheap ones that dont last as long or dearer ones that do.....the secret is to test them just before you go
