    I think the reason is valid, from this discussion i would say that if it is covered not loaded etc i have a pretty good argument,not covered then i still have a good reason but am not sticking to the "cover" part of the law,so could be in trouble,some sites say it has too be covered others dont mention it.I am pretty sure it does need to be. What if the road is unadopted??......i think we will leave that for another topic....

    Just had a quick look and guns do need to be covered and you cant have them in a public place without a good reason so to be safe i think if its covered i will have a good reason so that should suffice i suppose it also depends if u get a good cop/bad cop

    Point taken ,only trouble is its the other end from where i park my car,so its carry slip with me or go and get the car better safe than sorry,i dont want know trigger happy armed response looking for his first bunny!!

    On my permission i have a short walk from one field to another (about two minutes) do you think it would be a problem just walking there or could i be in effect breaking the law, it does cut across a road but i am thinking i would have good reason for doing it...any views?

    Recently started using my airgun for bunnies at night (normally a ferret man),am very much still learning,couldnt get within range of one all night,they just kept darting down holes or into the hedge,tried to hug hedgeline and keep as quiet as possible but no avail,all i can think is that it was a fairly bright night and no wind at all,cant really think of anything else unless they were a bit lamp shy.Any tips?? I think when you are starting out you do tend to question yourself

    Might be going out with someone ferreting,always worked with my own ferrets before,will there be any probs if we are both using our ferts in same warren,can they become aggressive with each other,my two obviously live together and work together and have never had any probs.

    Thanks everyone,i think all of the above are similar priced and good quality,am going to try the Rws superdomes as i am using the superpoint at mo and they seem ok,i am probably getting a little bit too deep into it, am gonna try the rws and stick to them if they ok,...good hunting

    Hi All, Am fed up looking at all the different types of pellet for my slavia 634,anyone recommend a not too pricey but decent pellet,am aiming for small game,have tried the Bisley pest control and they just dont suit my gun,am using Rws superpoint at the moment and they seem ok...any views

    Any idea how much a gunsmith would charge to attach a sling with studs and swivels to a air rifle?

    Picked up one of these with some scopes a couple of years back for £90,not really been into a lot of air gunning, mainly ferreting..anyone come across these, any views? and any ideas on the best pellets to use its a .22

    Considering starting my ferrets at above age,prob start with a small warren,they are as big as my full grown ferrets and more than held their own with them in a little tussle over some day old chicks so they seem ok to go to me

    Went to a permission last night and couldn't hit a barn door,missed 2 sitters (rabbits) couldn't understand what was wrong as i had zeroed my airgun in and took some pest control pellets,this morning i decided to try the same pellets and some of the ones i had zeroed the Rifle in. Ended up putting my shed window through using the pellets from the night before while my other pellets where bang on target,the pest control ones weren't just missing they were missing by absolute miles and totally indiscriminate,they had felt a little tight when loading so it must just be that my gun dont like the

    Had no probs with Mk 3 as long as you remember to take the batteries out at the end of the day

    I think some people jump on the locators too quick,i hardly ever use mine,but then again if there is nothing at home my two jills dont stay down too long,the locators are good back up if the ferret has been down a while...which i know wasnt the question but i do tend to ramble a bit in my old age
