  1. Here is what i think is the best vid and easiest method and agouti for supplies
  2. Ditto my view too much digging and doesn't seem fair game to me
  3. Is it just me or do a lot of these pest control specialists ferreting seem to be complete idiots, not all of them i hasten to add but some seem better sticking to wasps nests
  4. Without a doubt ferret would be dead if dog had got a good grip, just not enough allowed ferret to latch on then dog was knackered as fert wasnt lettin go
  5. I not got one but they a medium dog i would say and not thick set or bulky...not a bad all round choice just get them broke to the ferrets when they pups, plus they got the speed not as fast as a lurcher on the straight but pretty good in bush
  6. Good point especially considering my other post today...not had a reply but dog would have to be broke to ferts
  7. She not bad with rabbit holes, but a fox hole is a different story, but thats what terriers do basically go to ground, why not get a whippet or whippet/beddy....terriers are bred for foxes so down the hole they go
  8. In my opinion you heard correct, great with kids, not as yappy as jacks but need strong handling and most of them wont turn a fight down in fact they reckon they dont like it when something doesnt fight back,i seen a pic in America of two patts trying to get at some bloody big wildcat
  9. She let her stink off as well had to wash all me clothes
  10. I feared the worst but dont think he had a proper grip before the ferret got him
  11. Yes thats another point terriers more hard mouthed than lurchers who unless a rat or something have had them tend to be soft mouthed
  12. Easier if you got ferrets yourself as they sort of get used to them,,the one that got mine was a bed/whippet so terriers in my opinion more difficult,my lurcher was dead easy also the amount of control you got over the dog, mind you this dog was apparently ok with ferrets,so maybe i have learned a lesson...well i defo have
  13. Yer, only prob is she dont wanna let go and she did end up in the longnet herself one day
  14. Me other patt (in pic on left) has nailed me lurcher once, lurcher's not to keen on pain but patts seem to love it,she is 10 inches to the lurcher's 23 and it was no contest
  15. Dog (not mine) went down hole and nailed me ferret yesterday, managed to get dog off but ferret had latched onto dogs lip and devils own job getting her to let go,both ok in the end though, reckon dog needs a bit more training, just hope me ferrets not deterred as her first time out.
  16. You can probably but not definitely suss them out by speaking to them, give them a bell and see how they come across,or the old bit of advice, dont sell or buy anything from a scouser lol (joke),am gonna have bull terrier on my case now lol
  17. They ok to mark the holes i take my patt obviously she is only a small terrier and cant catch the rabbits but she enjoys it,bedlington/whippet on other hand a good all round dog for ferreting but got terrier in them so make sure they broke to ferrets
  18. Luck of the draw i reckon have sold a few things on preloved but their are some idiots out there not just on preloved but society in general, mind you i had more people let me down on here when advertising some ferrets than on preloved
  19. Yer will give it a try but like i said only using it on vibrate....so no shock to dog.....prob better than shooting him or using a lead pipe as some have suggested
  20. Update I decided to get a shock collar for me patt and see how that went,am pretty shocked myself really, the collar has a bleep that you press when they are doing what you want (i dont bother with that just give him verbal praise),a vibration and a small shock(it's i would say less powerful than a static shock,i have put my fingers on it a few times and it certainly doesn't hurt the dog),i would say the shock just breaks their train of thought so that you can reinforce what you want them to do. Really surprised, i have only tried two commands"leave" and "back",it's early days but massive
  21. Hi mate, got ferrets nets etc no probs to come up and show you the ropes,pm me if offer still open
  22. How do we do it chaps, always seems to be a bit of a nightmare for me on my own even the ferts that are used to them, can't find any particular way to get them on...anyone found an easy way
  23. It's a personal choice mate, for instance the time it takes me to make one it would be paid at about 50p per hour if i where to try and sell them,on the other hand i like doing it and gives great satisfaction getting a bunny in one's you have made yourself
  24. On the last pic looks like there quite a big gap underneath the run. Nice setup, i have been looking at sheds on there. Sorry should of said the run was not attached into it's final position
