  1. Sounds an excellent hunt Old Dog, Happy Days. I know what you mean about the butchers waste, i feed mine waste chicken raw when i can get it, it puts them in great condition but they can run fat if given to much, my local butcher also minces all the waste left overs for me, it looks to have more fat content but dosnt seem to put the weight on them like the chicken, bet you need it delivering by the truck load with the hounds you have to feed, do you have help around the kennels as well as in the field. Dave.

  4. Sounds excellent sport Old Dog, dont mean to be nosey but is it a formal hunt or is it something you have built up over the years and are they all your own hounds or are you part of a trencher fed or syndicate set up, like i say sorry for being nosey but i am very interested in people who keep many hounds, would like to myself one day, we hunt a small pack of Lurchers, Terriers and a Cocker x Hound, but i would like to start to introduce a few hounds over the next few seasons. Dave.

  11. Possibly my best day Bushing. Had possibly my best day with the pack at the weekend, we headed up the dale and hunted an old quarry, we hadn’t been there for about 1 year and we couldn’t wait as we knew it held a lot of rabbits, last time the terriers got a few but the lurchers had a night mare, the ground is tough going for them, very rocky, cliff faces and where the ground is flat there is thick bushes and scrub land, not giving them much space to manoeuvre. This time things were different and our young pack was a year older, the action started as soon as we got there, the Terrie

  22. Hi Shell, i hope i didnt insult you, i like the Hound crosses, i have 1 (see pic on page 1) and i know what mine is like she is spot on, but i am very interested as to how other people find them and what the first cross is like, do you have any pics of your Hound x's. Dave.
  23. Hello Shelly W thats a bold breeding your planning, what is your thinking regarding the cross. not having a go as i like the Terrier x hound just wondered about your thoughts and what you hoped to gain. Dave.
  24. Like i said earlier in this thread my Little hound x cocker hits cover as well as any Terrier on a scent, but we also work 3 other terriers and i find the Border x Lakeland types the best for Thick brambles and also Gorse bushes which we hunt alot, my Border x Lakeland dog is well trained to hand signals and the whistle, but carnt be stoped but as he catches his fair share we carnt grumble, if i point at a gorse bush if theres scent there or not he seems to just hit it for fun. Dave.
