£25 ??? I wouldn't be buying them at that price. If you have to have larger tubes, buy some dub dub and make up your own. Plenty of info and vids on YouTube. Or buy barnetts tubes which are still pricey but a lot cheaper than that. They were 3.99 when I put the link up? Feck payin £25 Its got to be a mistake or they guy is trying his luck. Just found 10 sets for £13.00... If he has run out of bands but does not want to loose his place in the listings order, they put the price up so that no one will buy them, but then they do not loose their place in the listings. TC

I am now working across the road from a job I did nearly 40 years ago. One of the features was a single squint bay window, we were using concrete bricks and all the squint bricks were machine cut so all the cuts were on the left of the squint arris. Some how or other I had laid one with the cut on the wrong side but did not notice till I had finished the pillar. I thought feck it today, I will wait till the agent sees it then pull it down. No one noticed, and it is still the same today. I often wonder how many people, if any, have noticed it. TC

Standards have never been that good with subbies, Never heard of a gauge rod or tingle. And wasn't the favourite saying "that'll do"? TC

Absolutely...I couldn't agree more. Apart from one outburst of personal abuse at myself the rest has been a great debate. But Tiercel, why have you (as well as others very vocal in condemnation of trapping with legholds) not commented on the post in the lurcher section of dogs attached to a wild pig? I'm curious?. First off, please show me where I have condemned the use of leg holds, or any trap for that matter? I stated what was wrong in my opinion, the taking of the photo before the dispatch. The post in the dog section I have not seen, as I hardly ever go in there unless collies are i

This thread has been conducted in a civil manner. People have to accept that others may have different ideas of what is acceptable to themselves. They also have a right to state that opinion, it does not make them right or wrong, it's just their opinion. TC

What have I said from day 1? TC

Look at the body language of the fox then look at the rabbit in Phil's photo, hell of a difference there. TC

If a rabbit or hare got stressed every time they got chased, there would be none left. To be fair any animal with a target on it's ar$e must be used to running away. TC

And in that statement Micky you have hit the nail on the head, Most, but not all by any means, photos are about bragging rights or for the acceptance of their peers. TC

It is not the style of trapping that made me dislike the photo. It was the fact that he decided to take photos before killing the fox. In my eyes respect ( a quick humane kill) for the hunted / trapped animal comes first, photos second. TC

Been a long time, but anyone recognise these? Compo!!!! Where's this Fecking muck? I don't pay you to fecking sit around!!!! TC

The post you done the other day, of the trapped rabbits, surprisingly I did not find those gratuitous, as in my mind they told a story and were an integral part of the story. Yet the photos of the foxes I did find did nothing but anger me. Even when animals are trapped for pest control they need to be treated with respect and those photos did not convey that the trapper had any respect for the animals. TC

Fair comment Mr Darcy, but not quite the whole story, if you have another look, the photo's that I "like" are accompanied by a report and it is the report that I am "liking" not the photo's. Does that clear it up for you? Have another look and try and find photo's I have put up of dead rabbits, if you look hard enough you will find one EOD shot in a report I done for a mate after he treated me to a day out on his ground. It was not the only photo but one of many telling the story of the days ferreting. Edited to add: Apologies I have just remembered there is another photo somewher

Les, I prefer the 4.25 for my double stranded polyester nets. But for 4z as it stretches quite a bit I still prefer the 4". But and it is a big but, that is because of the size of the full grown rabbits we have here. Over the years I have noticed a wide difference in the size of the rabbits around the country. Some of the biggest rabbits I have seen have come from the dales, man they are huge compared to ours. Even local to us there is a variation in size, on the coast you have rabbits that are on average half a pound smaller as a full grown rabbit than rabbits from inland. About 6 or 7 ye

Your heading in the right direction. I forget how many times I have written this but here goes again. There is and old saying 10 yards in the right place is worth 100 yards in the wrong place. When I started long netting there was no one to show me how to proceed, therefore I made mistakes and quite a lot of them. It took me eight goes to catch my first rabbit. The problem was I was netting ground that I had lamped with a dog and approaching the sets as if I had a dog not a net. Basically the rabbits knew I was there before I got the net out. Then one night I tried a different appr

Where do I start? There is a lot of misinformation bandied about on forums by people who have never set a net at night. Unfortunately people who know no better believe what they read. Will 6z catch rabbits? Answer yes. Will 6z catch as many rabbits as 4z? Never as long as you have a hole in your ar$e. I have a 4z net here that is over 30 years old and it has some patches in it, does it still catch rabbits? Hell yes. Just remember a rabbit can chew through a 6z net just as fast as a 4z. As for cutting up a net learn how to mend them there is a tutorial as a sticky in this section. TC

Feck me for that price I would come out of retirement. TC

I grow a goatee every winter. But, I shave it off before I get any tan. I can't stick it through the summer so shaved it off in June the first time I grew one. Tanned face with white skin all around my mouth, lesson learnt. TC

A 100 yard 4z long net will weigh close to 3 kilos just the dry net. When I started I used 50 yard nets and sometimes that was hard on the wrists. Now I use 25 yards find it a lot easier. TC

No expert, but looks like a type willow to me. TC

To my way of thinking, killing what ever you have hunted, trapped or caught is just part and parcel of hunting. Nothing to glorify, just a necessity that has to be done as quickly and humanly as possible. I am sure I am not alone in saying that photos of dead animals do absolutely nothing for me. It does not tell me how they caught the animal what techniques were use, so I gain nothing from it. Have a look back on threads telling how they caught some thing and the techniques used. It barley has a couple of posts, (mole trapping apart) Then have a look at post with pictures of dead rabbits

TC, is the point in this forum not for like minded people to come and share their hunting lives? IMO the site is a poorer place without pictures. Why does it have to be for a pat on the back? If we don't share things like this there is NO THL. The day everyone on this site becomes like me, never posting about any of our exploits because there is always someone ready to offer their morally superior opinion, the site will die for good. And believe me, these forums are missing out on some members exploits terribly!!!! I've noticed a few folks from here on Instagram and judging by their photos
