Catchy slogan.................bollocks like but catchy... Catchy slogan.................bollocks like but catchy... You might think it's bollox mate, but would you buy a pup for £400 and train it for 4-5 months and sell it for £500 if it was any good? I know i wouldn't.

Whippet breeding, will a racer make a good worker
mally replied to jimmy.jim86's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
It depends on the lines tbh mate as some may go like a bullet but lack stamina. Take a look at the dam and sire if they have narrow and shallow chests then theres a good chance they will lack the stamina required to give you a days work in the field. A photo of my bitch vixen, Look at the depth of her chest, she'll work all day with the ferrets and go lamping the same night without any problems. -
There was one advertised in the forsale section for £750 which is a good price considering a well bred pup is £500. Rememeber buy cheap buy twice!!

I've used the method i've described for the past 15 years, on the advice of a specialist greyhound vet. I wouldn't use or advise the use of drontal tablets on 2 week old pups, where one tablet treats an adult dog upto 10kgs. It's horse for course's, but i believe in giving pups the very best start in life and i certainly never ever cut corners to save money, one it wouldn't be fair on the pup or the prospective owners of the pups. The Panacur 10% treats Tapeworm

I wouldn't give pups under 12 weeks drontal + tablets, thats why they do puppy syrup. It's horse's for course's i suppose but i always tend to read medication labels Id do myself Mally, But i know lots of people that rasied litters on adult wormering tablets broken down to the correct dose for weight... And never had a problem, Iam not one for beleveing all the hype about ''puppy'' stuff and ''adult'' stuff its more or less the same stuff word diffrent for the consomer IMO anyway. But like you say its horses for courses I wouldn't give pups under 12 weeks drontal + tablets,

Do you not think it was a bit young to give up on ? Cheers. not if you have'nt got a clue what you doin, i'd say it's just the right age.hopefully it's gone to someone who will give it the time & training it deserves Totally agree with you lads, anyone who's running a dog at 7 months is a total muppet, the dog will be knackered by the times its 3. They are niether physically or mentally matrue at that age, no wonder you had problems with it and got rid!!. Folk like you shouldn't be allowed to have a dog and give genuine dog men a bad name. My mates just dropped off soem old

I'm looking for a cheap single barrel 12 or 20 guage for daily use to check the fox snares etc around the shoot as i'm sick of knocking up my best 20g o/u. I am obviously a shotgun certificate holder. I'm not looking for anything special, doesn't matter if it's rough as long as its in good working order. not bothered if its non ejector. Not wanting to pay anymore than £40-£50 or will swap if i have anything you need. I'm based in north notts and i'm not wanting to travel too far for one. Please Pm me if you have something suitable.

My favourite is roe (doe) closely followed by muntjac,We hang ours in an old coke fridge with the tempreture set at 4-5oC and usually for 3-4 days. The last one we had was a large muntjac buck and that tasted a little stronger than we've had before. I'm not keen on Red a little strong for me and i love liver!!. But in my opinion the best of all cuts of Venison is Roe liver. Just swet some onions in a frying pan cut the liver into 1/2" wide strips cook with the onions until just pink add a little ground pepper, turn down the heat and add double cream. heat through and serve on a couple of t

I agree with both above but i always use panacur 10% as well just incase, I have it in for the bitch anyway as the drontal puppy syrup's no good for the bitch anyway. As mentioned above it's clear with drontal that your getting rid of the worms as they come out with the pups shit. Thats exactly the reason why the last time i worm them (the day before they go to there new home) with panacur, so the new owners don't see any worms. (not that they will be many if you worm them every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age)

I use both Drontal puppy syrup and Panacur 10% wormer. Drontal @ 2 weeks (panacur 10% for the bitch) Panacur 10% @ 4 weeks (pups only) Drontal @ 6 weeks (panacur for the bitch) and Panacur for the pups before they go to there new homes, It's important to use panacur 10% mate as it desolves the worms, you don't want the new owners noticing worms in the stools of new pups mate. Once th pups have all gone to there homes Panacur the bitch 1/2 dose for 7 days, this will give her a good clear out mate so you can concentrate on getting her fit again. If he tits are slow to get back to normal give he

Cock Cock Rabbit dogs want culling?? what a tosser. I was judging at a show a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't the rabbit dogs pulling there owners all over the field, it was the bull x's because there owners can't even take the time to train the buggers properly. I've had lurchers and whippets for over 25 years and hunting anything i can't eat just doesn't interest me. To the Lad having a pop at chartpolski i've been out with him a fair few times and i'd certainly have his dogs in my kennel. It's horses for coursers, but the quote 'Rabbit dogs should be culled' is a comment f
