    I had the cow mats too,48 euro each.They lasted 4 months until the dog dug a hole down through the centre.im still waiting for the eureka moment when I find something they dont eat,throw out of their boxes or just plain destroy.

    I went and bought 2 bales of straw last week,filled 7 boxes and all you can see is their nose poking through,you have to call them to get em out for food,lol.they're in good condition,holding plenty of weight.Couldnt have heat lamps for all of them,would cost a fortune

    cant wait to get back but I have to make sure the ferrets have a job to do also,no point having them for the sake of it,same with the dogs I keep,they must have a purpose,and so far I keep them busy.The day I cant,then I have to re assess the situation,but im confident I'll be busy for the next thirty years :laugh:

    have no fear people,i have no intention in packing in ferreting for good,its just that the effort,cost and end of day results do not add up.I havent had a decent bag in months,I had a better than usual result last october............I had 8,lol.I miss it allready but the ferrets were siting in their boxes,geting out for a handle and nothing much else,thats no way for a ferret to live so they went on to a young lad last night,promising me he would use them for what they were bred for,so im happy hes enthusiastic and will have some fun with them.Nets under the bed my locator in the bed side lock

    got to clean and store the bloody ferret boxes now,lol.6 and a half feet high and 4 foot wide,small hotel where the hell do I put them,

    well after 30+years ive rehomed my 2 ferrets yesterday.Due to the lack of rabbits and the cost of geting out and the effort put in and the end of day results I decided to take a break from rabbiting until hopefully things improve.I have the nets put away,the locator safetly hidden and the ferret boxes must now be cleaned and stored.The kelpie x wont know whats going on but we'll walk out on other assignments,lol.hopefully next year I'll get back into rabbit slaying.

    what about useing a red nose cover,like the ones the clowns use in the circus,strap it around the back of his head,hell you could have a different coloured one for every day of the week,

    GTE theres a distillers not far from me,I always thought they'd never get involved with shifting barrells.I'll make enquiries and see what they say. yeah jonesy,you know ye wanna,lol.

    the shepherd has a big warm shed to sleep in and if I dont lock the wicket gate you'll always find him curled up in the barrell happy out.My hunt for cheap oak barrells continues,lol

    lol what the hell chris is the prob ,you should know ALL dogs and men from Cork are the best in the country, my dogs are my dogs,how good or bad they are who knows,who cares.the dog you have is a fine animal,best of luck with him.Fat man ive never been found guilty of phornocating with any animal,I might had a few close calls and there may be a few rumours going about but they are not true,lol.Chris if yer that sensetive yer on the wrong site kid
