  4. john, the head was by far the best bit,the rest was not up to much, hence my choice of ''stuffing''

  6. what ye think of my trophy, took me ages to sneak up on the fukka,in its own enviornment its just too bloody smart but I managed to lure it out of its lair.one shot, one kill.very pleased with the taxidermist. He said it was the best specimen he'd ever worked on.It'll look nice over the mantel, what you reckon?
  7. i think id sleep with my back to the wall in their company, lol.eccentric to say the least.
  8. looks like were never going to find out lol
  9. well BH,I never heard of a dog guarding his kennell, thats a new one for me.if a dog is like that,it has nothing to do with food, hes just a dodgy animal and should be dealt with accordingly. Now I admit I see your point with the bones,I have taken bones from dogs when I think theyve had enough,I have thrown goat heads into dogs and let them chew away for an hour or so and then while they were eating I would reach down and take it from them and give it to another dog.Sooo I have done exactly what your saying and have only realised it after reading your post.It looks like there are times when you
  10. well thats not what i want in my dogs lurcher1,you want your dog to be terrified and in a state of loosing control of its bladder when you approach it?the only way that is achieved is by abusing it psychally and mentally in my opinion, which doesnt say much for your methods.pack leader,FFS.big bad dog men eh?BH,just asking why you need to do this?Would it not be better to tell the kids/wife family/immediate guests...................DONT APPROACH THE DOG WHEN ITS EATING ,,or better still lock the dog away for 2-3 minutes while it hoovers up its food, job done,no problems anywhere,.I respect your
  11. But if you did have a dog turn dropping it's head bearing it's teeth snarling at you when you got near it while it had a bone or food and then snapping at your hand when you went to take it would you consider it acceptable? If I understand you right you see it as pointless because you have never had a dog aggressively protect it's food? But what if you did? My parents 29" Greyhound was a right evil c**t with a bone, doing exactly that. It was a behaviour in part due to a life as a kenneled racer but I despise it in a dog and the bitch was tought different. Just wondering if you consider th
  12. well havent I opened a can of worms, interesting debate though.I dont understand why anyone would want to take food back from a dog unless he/she was eating too much at one siting. On the odd occassion one of my bull terriers got loose and went into the shed with realms of meat about, there never was an issue with any of them being removed from the source.I never once had a dog of any breed turn and growl even if I had to take his grub from him.I dont see the point in this action anyway.Just feed the dog and let him enjoy his meal undisturbed.why need to ''TEST'' the animal?
  13. savages the lot of them, never leave them near kids or they'll eat them, lol.
  14. and no doubt very few will get pulled for this if any.thanks bear,a van load of dogs were stoped a few months back, lurchers and terriers but the customs/cops couldnt prove 100% the driver of the van didnt own them so were left through.no doubt they were belong to those that lost their hunting dogs
  15. right the question now being asked is who took them? Its been said from the start the dogs were in limerick and nothing could be done about it.how come they were found now?who found them and are they going to be charged as they should be.Where on face book is this topic please.
  16. the staff we have here is exactly the same,a big dopey softie, but if a dog pushes his luck too much he has a serious side too,but not extreme by any means.he sleeps up on the chairs and anywhere he likes.their a great family dog and always were.
  17. soppy but shows the possibilities if they are reared right.
  18. just remarking on the power this shower have,I didnt mean that diging badgers would ever become legal,I was more on the whole hunting spectrum.that was some turn about,I thought it was signed sealed and delivered.they sure pack a punch.

  20. i was out shooting today with taz the kelpiex. She scent trailed a gang of goats for a hell of a distance, walking ahead of me by 40 yards, and when she came across the bunch she sits down.I then know she can see them,Gun ready and 2 shot today. She was never trained as such, just picked up this habit of her own accord/She understands once the herd are there its my job to knock em over. She doesnt run in either even if the goat does a runner after the shot.she just sits and studys the direction they head, then i give the word and shes off to trail them to where they fall.Shes also very good at the f
