  1. Yhen we have different perceptions of the same program, not the end of the world.
  2. I rang the guy I thought it was Lee,not his,the litter he bred would be about five months old now or thereabouts,he sold the last of his at some show up in kielder, blanchland or somewhere?Sorry mate, dead end.
  3. Not that lab,but he has started to believe the HFW legend as of late, much better would be a kick-off twixt HFW,Oliver and Ramsey,my cash is on Gordy.
  4. They are chefs mate, nowt else,f8ck sakes I can fry a pan of chips with the best of them, but they believe their own legend,I remember Gordy going to f*cking Costa f*cking Rica to confront and track down the shark-finners,didnt save a single hammerhead nor white-tip,you honestly think the chinese will stop their shark-fin soup trade because of Gordon f*cking Ramsay? They hype themselves up,I remember Ramsay said he was doused in petrol, held at gunpoint etc while investigating the trade, what a load of toffee,he would still be in therapy had that happened.
  5. He is a businessman plain and simple, not some downsizing principled peoples-hero,his journalism background gave him some insight into how the media works, his self publicising ideas like the placenta-eating and the River-cottage back to nature ideology keep him in the public eye, thats it,plain and simple.
  6. He went to Eaton, then Oxford, and wrote for the Sunday Times when he graduated, says it all really,as for the puppies-taste-nice publicity,he did a similar thing years ago with a human placenta, any publicity is better than no publicity at all methinks.
  7. Unlikely to get a refund from Deben, but your thinking on the right track,it shouldnt be difficult with a little savvy to offer these batteries at a much cheaper rate, the big firms always make cash on the ignorance of their customers.
  8. You have just given him a whole raft of ideas for next years courses,cow-milking,goat-milking and when the appeal of those starts to pale PIG-milking(I wonder if pig cheese would sell???).
  9. Any shoplifting tips?Apart from dont get caught obviously.
  10. Sell out?I should think he is making top dollar then, with the amount of staff he now employs and courses he offers, bargain starting at £230 a day to learn how to be a genuine dyed-in-the-wool country peasant... http://www.rivercottage.net/shop/product/one_day_at_park_farm/ He started out with the right intentions maybe, saw where the vehicle was heading, and sold out to the highest bidder, cant say I wouldnt have done the same in his shoes, but take the river-cottage experience for what it is,its good TV and thats it.
  11. Your their token peasant Tomo, its good to play at being skint and living off the land for some people, for others its not a game, its a harsh reality, plenty of people in this country live hand to mouth,river-cottage is now just a business, the original concept was good however, but HFW I think had always aimed it at the middle-classes,how many working class guys have a £750k smallholding to "Survive" on?
  12. He is an upper middle-class fop mate,I remember everyone saying how brave he was trying to survive in River cottage, trying to survive????F*cking hell how much was the production budget? They were never going to let him starve,he sometimes has a few peasants around his gaff to leaven out the social mix but he is most certainly not slumming it,he does river-cottage "classes" now where the middle-classes can go and learn how to live-off the land and do working class things.
  13. Nah,thats balut, they boil the embryo at 17+ days, quite nice actually once you psychologically get past the little bones etc crunching, the taste itself is fine.
  14. Had ostrich a few times, better than croc.
  15. I think the worst food I heard of over there was "3-squeals" live rat embryo dipped in soy-sauce.
  16. No,I have eaten it a few times, last december I had it at Davao crocodile farm,I had a steak and a sort of curry dish a few days later when I passed that way again.
  17. Last time I had croc was last december, chewy, not my idea of a decent meal, the place I ate it breeds them for skins, meat is just a non-wasteable by-product,waste not want not.
  18. Originates from "Chao" meaning to fry.
  19. I dont know if it was originally bred for food,no one in their right mind would breed a carnivore for the table, dog meat isnt all that, its edible but there are tastier things to eat,but when times are hard maybe that was one of its uses...
  20. Hunting and protection in mongolia or somesuch region?
  21. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1127628 http://www.petforums.co.uk/pet-news/160250-dogs-microchip-chips-tooth-2.html http://legendsrumors.blogspot.com/2011/06/dogs-microchip-wedged-in-restaurant.html Hundreds of such reports online, the dig would be an endangered species in the UK and stateside if they were all true, urban leg-end.
  22. Eaten dog in the past, and cat(cue pussy and beaver eating jokes)bith just meat in some places, wont catch on over here anytime soon, maybe Hughes statement which is sure to provoke debate was made just as his new series is coming up....Good bit of advertising.
  23. How much was that kit?I am 100% certain you could get something equally as good imported yourself for half the price.
