Don’t know mate,people being people?Sandy would be the one most suited to answering the question,he has Spanish Galgo,but he hasn’t been on for a few weeks.

I low balled it at 50k,but even Wikipedia puts it at 50-100k hung,drown,thrown off cliffs and down wells.

Just read a Nat Geo article TOMO they put the number of Galgo destroyed in Spain each year from 10’s of thousands up to 100,000 so 50,000 might be accurate.

I wasn’t allowed to trout fish in Bhutan as they are strict Buddhists,a driver in a vehicle I was in didn’t even sound the horn at a dog in the road,he just waited for the dog to move. Then there’s animism…….

That’s a third that’s been caught in the UK then,impressive turtles,I have spoken to a bloke here who saw one holding a mallard,ambush predators,I have seen one near a brood of ducklings.

There’s been at least one snapping turtle caught in a UK river,from memory one was caught only a couple of years ago in the river Trent,and I seem to remember one caught maybe 20 years back in southern England somewhere?

Get it checked,my missus told me the story of a guy who went in for a check up,all the classic sciatica symptoms,it was a tumour trapping the nerve.

They need sustained high temperatures to breed successfully,I think for around two months?But there may have been the odd clutch,maybe?I found quite a few nests this year dug out by raccoons.

Don’t know if it’s the real number mate,same as the 20 million dogs eaten annually in China,something I read,seen pics of hung dogs in Spain,there’s a guy lives local to me in Surrey,posh bloke,he has a few rescue Galgo.
