  1. Adobe Photoshop Elements apparently, there have been a few discussions on it recently. I've not managed to do it yet. Perhaps someone lelse knows what is the best route for this. They do look good though. Good luck!
  2. For 89 quid, yes! Can't see you being diappointed! I love my fuji E550, and thats well old, and was quite pricey at the time.
  3. Looks good! We have two fuji point and shoot types, and the colour detail is spot on. We have been looking at the S200HD which can be got for about £170.00 as an alternative to lugging all the canon gear around every time.
  4. Starting with the last bit Richie, I can't remember which eos you have, but i'm guessing it has a CMOS sensor - this means that the sensor is smaller than the size of (old style) 35mm film. From 5D upwards, the sensors are full frame. This means that the sensor on your eos is nearer to the lens to compensate, so you get more magnification from the lens than you would with an old "film" camera with the same lens. The 18-200 lens you are looking at is faster (lower F number) than your small lens, and the same speed at the full zoom end. Don't forget though, your 75-300 would have a much bigger
  5. How did it happen?. Poor kid. Heart goes out to the family.
  6. Christmas is great with the family, it's the gifts that are shit, everyone stresses about buying something, few can really afford it, and even fewer recipients really appreciate it.
  7. Had open sights for about 15 years on my BSA mercury - best way to learn in my opinion!
  8. I seem to shoot much better with my 410 than the 12 bore.
  9. Try the airgun FAQ or do a search "permission letter"
  10. Are you sure you want to do it? It could eat into your hunting time! I considered this on one of my permissions and decided that i would be spending most of my weekend doing moles, leaving little time for anything else!
  11. Its all down to the FEO at the end of the day, try and get some with lots of safe backstops, maybe put up some high seats. Sadly, I don't think there are any guidelines, only how the FEO feels about you, your attitude and the land. If i were in your position, I'd try and get some permission, join a club, and perhaps 18 months after FAC issue, and using a lot of ammo, apply for an open ticket. Once you got that, you can shoot anywhere YOU consider safe.
  12. Mods, can we pin this in every section?????
  13. Look for a plot with lots of lovely backstops, no houses, roads or footpaths nearby. I got 22lr on 50 acres of flat(ish) land crossed with paths and roads and a few houses, but i did state that i would be shooting from a high seat or elevated position. I think i will struggle to get a larger calibre on this plot.
  14. large knob of butter+ slug of olive oil in frying pan, get hot, fry breasts for about 2 mins, turn heat down, add 1/2 glass of wine, few slugs of soy sauce, finely chopped mushrooms, good couple of large spoons of cranberry sauce, few slugs of thai sweet chilli sauce, black pepper, simmer for about 10 mins until sauce is like gravy, serve with mashed potato, peas ..........loverly! Also works with slices of venison. You can muck about with the ingredients to your taste too.
  15. I phone the police if i'm out, there are too many "non country" types here. Saves a visit from the ARU! Always get a reference number from them too. I like to think that when a member of the public phones in because they have seen "A man with a gun" that the old bill will put them straight. If their call was genuine concern, or malicious - "because they just dont like hunting" It's nice that you are one step ahead.
  16. "i see things differently now if that makes sense.. " ........... Oh dear, he has the bug! Gun or camera? Gun or camera? Gun or camera? I think those coulour highlight b&w can look very effective if the coulour element is subdued more towards b&w, almost to the point where youre not quite sure if the picture is b&w or not ........if that makes sense. Recon it would work well with the dog and the rabbits done. ........Just a thought!
  17. ....Well, as much as I dislike the champers swilling antics of the CA, at least they are doing something!! Apathy will achieve nothing. "Carrying on "As usual" will do nothing more than give the antis more ammunition next time some other aspect of country sport is about to go under with some b******s law.

  19. Nice one! I still have to suss that one!
  20. I don't practice snaring, but I do appreciate the skills of a snareman. JBS is an eccentric who is happy to try stuff and make it public, and good luck to him, this is how ideas develop! I wonder how the inventor of the snare was recieved when he first put it to his contemporaries?? This is not an endorsement of credability of JBS's posts, but support of those who "Have a go"
  21. Silver Fox "he said that if I didn't hear from him then it would be OK to shoot there" Sorry, but I would not accept that unless you had it in writing from them. Always make sure you got a paper trail!!
  22. My feo would not allow fox for 22lr except dispatch of cage trapped or snared, even though I'm pro. As I understand it, if it's not specifically on your licence, shooting one contravines the conditions of your licence and you may lose your FAC. This also goes for ducks, pheasant etc (i.e not ground game and vermin) However, at a seminar recently, I raised this issue with an expert in this field and he told me that "There is NO legal minimum calibre for fox" ....... that said, if you shot one with an air rifle you would likely be prosecuted under animal welfare laws.
  23. Those traps are not good, i'd go for the kilgerm ones.
  24. "high-handed and devious fashion" .... sounds familiar!
