  1. SMK 19 Sorry, couldn't resist :secret: Let you into a secret: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...c=107429&hl= Do you recognise the rifle They are great rifles. Phantom
  2. Hey BigJohn, Welcome aboard the good ship THL You don't say if your a proficiant shooter? How long you been shooting? If you are a newbie to the field and not just new here, then join a club or learn to shoot effectively before finding permission. All the guy's (well most anyway) will offer what is probably the best advice going on shooting and hunting, but you do need to be able to consistantly kill paper bulls-eyes at 20-35 yards outright. Practice, Practice and MORE practice!! Phantom
  3. You didn't mention you missed the 2nd Woody? Only joking fella, gawd you guys make me soooooo green eyed. Phantom
  4. Was just thinking the same Was also going to offer you a hand, but then I saw your location! Nice going, now go get em Phantom

Would have been three if the little feckers hadn't seen me and flew off! One looked at me and did a runner, litterally until it saw me follow it through the scop and then it pi55ed of skyward! Phantom

  9. Seconded Like you I haven't been out for a while (still trying to get my permission in writing, but cant get hold of the horse owner). I like to read about the hunting tales and the ones that do end up with arguments do spoil things a great deal Phantom
  10. Nice Shooting there mate. Patience is a Virtue or so they say (dunno if I agree), but it certainly helps when hunting BTW is that an Edgar Bros rifle? Phantom
  11. So very true, I remember when I was about 9 years old fishing off Prince Of Wales Pier in Falmouth Only caught a great big crab and it fell off as I brought it up from the sea I was very reluctant to go home empty handed especially as I had a wager with my old man that if I caught 'anything' he would take me wreck fishing on one of the boats out of the harbour. So I called in one of the fishmongers on the way home got 3 fresh (as in just off one of the boats) Mackrel and threaded some line through the Gill's slung em over my shoulder and walked home. He never did sus it an
  12. Looking at the images full size there aint much chance of the lead going anywhere into the body (especially the top one) The second bunny that I shot for the table was a very good head shot and when I skin them I take it over the head to see what damage and exactly where the pellet hit. When I looked it had gone in but I could not find the slug. The wound tract went clean to the other side of the skull taking out the brain stem. Someone mentioned they had the same and they found it down its throat! I had already gotten shut of its innards so I couldnt check down there. I cant say I chewe
  13. You missed and it saw the pellet , but it had a weak heart and you scared it to death Either that or it had a very hard head, when you skinned it did you take the skin over the head to see if it was bruised cuz it sure becomes obvious where you hit. Phantom
  14. I was recently offered an AGS PCR1 with a scope and bag for £200 (second hand) from a RFD mate of mine, but, from what I have read so far they aint that good (Please correct me guy's cuz I'm likely to get one when I have the means) Then of course there is the Stirrup Pump (cheapest I've seen is £99!) or a dive bottle, which I gather is very expensive. Phantom
  15. I once nearly stood on one about 7inches from nose to tail, I nearly sh#t & tiddled myself Dunno whether it was me or fluffy that made most noise, but my heart was pounding in my ears! Phantom

  17. Awwwwww, aint that sweet We inherited a small white one years ago from my wifes mother. T'was a lovely little animal, sadly it died (after we forked out for a new hutch!) inconsiderate li'l fecker, the hutch cost a fortune. Before we got the hutch, my mother-in-law had one of those pet carriers that it lived in and it had the run of her house. My daughter loved it. It however hated me Never thought about trapping one though a hell of a lot cheaper than paying for one , is it not illegal to trap one and let it live? Phantom
  18. Thanks Gay's, erm I mean Guy's Looks very expensive Phantom

  22. Nice to hear a good story regarding the Police I spoke to one of the local PCSO's today Very Pretty I stopped her and asked how I would get in touch with the local Fire Arms officer/unit. She asked me if I wanted to apply for a SG or FAC. I told her that I've been shooting airguns for 30+ years and after a year and a half of shooting im my garden, the neighbours were getting stroppy and I just wanted a chat with him, so he could see my range setup, my pistols and Rifle. And maybe give my neighbours some reassurance that my pellets and guns do not defy basic laws of physics as they cla
