Sweet shooting there Passed a little field on my way home from my small permission. Damn do I wish I had that land to shoot on. Hundreds of the fluffy tailed table fodder! Got one in the freezer for Sunday in a nice Creole sauce Phantom

Ladies and Gentlemen, I like to shoot my springer but I am (when funds permit) looking to buy a very cheap PCP and it HAS TO be WHISPER quiet so the silencer has to be very, very effective. The reason is: My neighbours have decided to kick up a fuss about me shooting in the garden. I've lived here for nearly 25 years and have always gotten on well with them. I have been shooting in the garden for over a year now without any hassle. One neighbour, claimed that I had fired a pellet that had hit the chair that she was sitting on!! I can not understand how she reckoned that because:

On my way home yesterday (I drew a blank too due to my scope being out ) I saw a Deer as well. I have no idea what kind it was but it watched me moving against the hedgerow. Eventually, it began what I can only describe as "Barking" at me then ran, or should I say "Jumped" off and every few hops it turned looked at me and barked again! once I had got to the corner of the field it relaxed and went back to feeding. Lovely creature it was made my day. Phantom

If its out to 35 yards, Get one of the Tesco Cree torches. £8 plus the mount! Brilliant light throw, small, 500% brighter than normal LED torches, completely water proof, All metal construction, easy to mod for a remote switch (costing pennies). As good or better maybe than the Deben ones! I used the instructions on here for the mod, Then created a good red filter for a few pence more (well free as I had the stuff in a drawer) Phantom

not mixi mate, i have shot plenty with mixi and looked at their livers to see if they are marked and generaly they wernt, also the ones i shot tonight had no signs of mixi, though i have shot some with 'scars' that have survived it! I stand corrected (again! but I dont mind as its good to learn by our mistakes) I'm sure it was Lofty that wrote it, hence my reply. As for eating a Myxie infected bunny, according to the boffins, its not unsafe to munch on it, but would you want to try it? Phantom

Excellent my good man BTW Les, I lost your email addy can you resend it please? I went out this morning with my last few AA's in my pocket. I had knocked my rifle yesterday in the garden (it was stood against the garden table) Didnt think it would have knocked my zero though! On my way home this morning, is bugsy sat next to the warren entrance (well a few feet away). It was the biggest darn rabbit I have personally seen in the wild. I was very about 20 yards out and at 5 mag on the scope, the image of his/head covered 4 mildots. It was just sitting there daring me to have a go

Myxie can show up as white spots (according to a survival manual) on the liver. Good shooting BTW Phantom

When in the Cesspit this morning (Hull) I called into one of the local RFD shops. I was after another tin of AA Diablo Fields in .22 because I like them encased in rabbit skull Sadly they had none However they had these Apparently they are exactly the same as the AA's and they are made by JSB The bonus was they were a quid cheaper so I got my £8.00 out and the dealer asked for £10.95 Last tub of em cost me £8.99 from another shop in South Cave. When I got home I checked the details and compared the pellets. There is a very tiny weight difference and the FX s

Walking to my permission the other night, full dpm kit and rifle slung on my back in dpm case. Walking past the local 'station' (well actually its where the 'Scientific Investigation Unit' is housed) but there is always a copper or two on duty if thats what they call sitting on their butts suppin tea Anyway's Im walking down the street in this getup and a couple of bobbies (In car, returning to the station) pass me and the car break lights go on! Oh here we go I thought Just then the car moves off again and turns left into a side street. Now if they were going back to the stati

Aaron, thats about 23 pellets a day I tend to put a 500 to 750+ per week when plinking (the advantage of being on sick I suppose) sometimes more! Now if your gun's only doing 8ft/lbs and you think its down to the amount your firing buggering up the spring, I would suggest you go out and buy a cheap Chinese gun as mine has had many thousands of rounds down it and is still doing around 10.5 to 11ft/lbs Phantom

Nice shooting there Jack That shot to the front of the noggin is spot on. Phantom

If I can get my butt outa bed, I should be setting off about 03:45, be there by 4 and this time I'm gonna hang around and try and control the adrenaline enough to hang around for a couple more Phantom

Hey Snakes, is that one of them 2 inch long chopping boards that make your food look big? :tongue4: Only joking Well donee buddy , I got my second ever bunny within 20 mins the other morning hope to get 3rd in the morning. Wish me luck. Phantom

My Chinese copy of the Gamo Hunter is Superb Quality Hard hitting and accurate. Recoil is well managed too. Just because its Chinese don't mean it's crap. I remember the old saying in the motorcycle trade "Jap Crap", now our firms and others the world over are trying to emulate the "Japanese Quality", China is the new Japan when it comes to industry. Can't judge the taste of the bunny by the colour of it's fur can we? Phantom

Thanks guy's, Mushroom, I know just what you mean. Just me, the birds, the gun and the prey. Awsome time of the day and such an adreneline rush; although I am now beginning to control the adreneline and Im hitting the mark:) Phantom

Signed it shortly after it went live I also put the link at the end of the other thread. It would be a good idea to have this one made a sticky perhaps, but then does anyone ever read the stickies on forums? Phantom

8Shot its a SMK Mod19 in .22 (copy of the Gamo Hunter) The One, yes its a headshot just a touch below the eye. Took the shot at about 28-30 yards, this time I didn't get a through shot as I did with my 1st bunny. When I got home I decided to follow the advice from an AG Hunting Video and dig out the pellet to see how deformed it was. I skinned ol'e bugs and then disected the head, NO sign of the pellet! yet the entry wound and track is clear! It stops just short of the left ear behind the eye. Bunny did the usual flip, dropped kicked then nowt! The amount of blood shocked me tho

I have been wondering the same! I have heard that its pretty 'low tack' and should not harm the rifle finish in any way. Im going to give it a go, but wont be for a few weeks though as funds are very low Phantom
