To tell you the truth Aaron, I can't remember what gun it was I know that it was my 1st time on a hft course though, I was supposed to be shooting photo's rather than guns for the Hull and district FT-Club! But this guy asked me if I thought I was up to shooting at a metal Squirrel target at about 30-40 yards that had the killzone reduced to 20mm and the thing was at the end of a 3foot long piece of old Gas pipe (which was curved, adding to the illusion that it was a much harder shot) with the pipe hiding more than half of the killzone. Took me two shots to do it, the 1st just dinged

Sorry Sean, the voices made me do it You all know that I got a bargain with my S200 so won't go into that. I agree though, there are some classic spelling mistakes out there. I try to figure out whether its a typo or a full blown "can't spell". Mind you, most of the ones who can't spell to save their lives are really decent people or at least thats the impression I get from most of them Phantom

Cheers guys Yeah Aaron thats me taken just after my surgery last year. My tan has faded though now and I've lost a fair bit more weight now as well Phantom

HW35 barrel doesn't lock into place properly
Phantom replied to zeb's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Sean, No offence, but I think you didn't read the op correctly. The breach lock is at fault buddy not the trigger sears. If its not locking up straight and the barrel is drooping, its defo the breach lock. May be worn or perhaps a new spring fitted will solve the problem. Phantom -
Bet I can beat you at that buddy and I'm talking the pint ones, not them dinky 440 ones! Phantom
-
Cheers Bear, Hopefully I may be able to take you up on that one day Phantom

Quite right buddy, It should be in the general banter???? The main section that it was moved from is reserved for shooting pest control reports only. SS may wish to move it again?? Phantom -
I got an email this evening asking me to go see a guy after one of the local parish council meeting decided to take me up on my offer of thinning out the bunnies for them. As many of you know I have a verbal permission but wont shoot it until I catch the tennant and get it in writing. The landowner of the permission want me to provide evidance of the numbers I shall be reducing the bunny popultion by keeping a log book for at least three months. I also have to provide a referance from another land owner which is now done If I do a good job and I will then there is a set of lo

Good shot Phantom -
Well, it boiled up okay, a lot of the meat fell off the external part, but the flesh inside the skull stayed put (mouth and nasal cavities etc). Scraped out as much as I could. smell was quite revolting Decided to drop it in some caustic soda to finish it off. Seems to have done the trick The base of the skull at the back came off and the brain dropped out so I washed off all the soda and have left it to dry in the shed. Hope to put it all back together (lower Mandable and skull and base of brain cavity tomorrow when its all dried out. I'll put up a pic if all goes well Phantom

Aaron, Sheridan EB22 (co2 pistol) is ideal for caged vermin I would only use the larger calibre such as .22 though. Other pistols for same include HW45 (but were talking money there), an old Webley Tempest. Both the EB22 or the HW45 are running very close to the limit power-wise. Tony

Perhaps the bore is off centre? I know its rare, but it has been known. It only has to be a fraction of a mm out to do cause serious problems. That would explain the accuracy without the silencer and the clipping with the silencer. I saw a piece in a magazine some time ago that showed the "Obviouse" off centre bore, but it shot as straight as a die because the sights accomodated the error. Put a silencer on and the pellet would have not made it past the 1st baffle! Phantom

Ohhh home made chips cant remember when I had them last. After my op last year, I can only handle one or two chips before they make me ill. I can manage 6 or 7 oven chips though Roast spuds are the best food ever created again I can only eat one or two, but I used to eat em by the lbs Phantom

In ft/lbs? Its approximately 1.2-1.5 Dont even think about hunting with it (although 'dry-firing' they are good for taking out flies at almost 4 inches, wasps even better but they dont half make a mess!) If your into shooting Co2 Pistols why not join us at : www.umarexboysclub.co.uk and our own dedicated forum for air and co2 pistol (and my occasional hunting story) shooters is http://umarexboysclubforum.myfineforum.org/index.php Take care Phantom (UBC name Phantom Sniper, Club Secretary;) )

Sounds like an INVITE if ever I saw one Last year, I tried to help out a work collegue and lost my job because of it I still like to help people out as and when I can though I've just helped a member on here out and he has taken the time out to thank me for it, which makes it all worth while I'm also trying to help another member out, but so far drawn a blank. But yes, sometimes 'helping' can come back and bite you in the arse with very big teeth. Phantom -
