I didn't see it as offensive Callum not in the slightest. I started with depression on and off since I was about 14. My depression hit hard a few years ago, then after I had major surgery and I lost my job, I became so depressed that I found myself at the top of a well known towerblock in Hull. I was prevented from walking off it by a couple of young girls that had called to me. I still to this day have no recollection of how I actually got there! Depression can be a serious illness and no-one can actually understand what another person is going through, each case is (even simi

I've never had that happen to me thankfully, but I have used them to calm me down after the fact. It takes a lot to get me wound up. Which is why I was so good at my last job. Security and Close Protection Officer in a specialist medical centre dealing with Drug and Alcohol Addictions and other substance missuse, we also dealt with the people who were way to dangerous or violent to be seen at a normal GP's surgery. I had various people attack me, and the people I was hired to protect using many and varied types of 'weapons' from pens to machetties and swords, needles filled with HIV or Hep

Trust me Chimp, This is going somewhere Earlier a comment was made that wound me up a little, so I asked a question and I am now awaiting the reply. Some people who seem 'normal' may actually have unseen problems. The government reckon that one in four people have some (many undiagnosed) mental health problems. I am a safe and competent shooter, however after a breakdown and a couple of relapses I found that by taking this action stopped me from taking it out on others I am now on the road to recovery. But I can still get wound up by people who say stupid things like

As promissed, here's the pix First is the Pellet entry hole in my forarm that was at an angle and not straight on. The pellet came to a stop just under the scarr tissue that you see The second one is my 1st attempt at suturing a wound. Trying to do it one handed was a bit awkward to say the least I cant find the head on pic of the Geco with the skirt sticking out of my forearm but I'll keep looking. Phantom

My Trigger Finger's Fecked :(
Phantom replied to Phantom's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Cheers Davy and Darryl, I did try leaving some surgical finger on for a while, it did help keep the cream in place, and that in turn made it a little less painful. Trouble was, during the day, the fingers dried out again Phantom -

£2.50 a round, if you buy them by the 10,000's I have a couple of .50's in my collection Even innert ones aint that cheap to purchase. The guy getting the Ric' actually caught a fragment from a secondary ric of the ground in front of the bench Look carefully and you can see a puff of dust on the floor before his ear protectors take the fragment. Accidents can and do happen; no matter how careful you think you are Whats your opinion of people who shoot themselves intentionally with an airgun Phantom

Nice on Davy Although you did get me nibbling at the bait , I was wondering if I should have a bite or not. Glad i didn't this time (makes a change huh?) Phantom

Should we introduce an air rifle licence?
Phantom replied to LordGamebore's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I find that field craft and camo go hand in hand; and I'm sure most of the regular successful hunters will back me up with that. Sure people can wear bright coloured t-shirts and jeans etc and get results I've done it as well but I find since I have moved onto DPM my bags have increased greatly Phantom -
I aint complaining I did it while I was having a mental breakdown after I lost my job I do indeed have a special interest in balistic wounds I'll try and find the Photo's for yah. It was eductional I learned that a 2.3 ft/lbs pellet can indeed cause a lot of pain My Doc was not too pleased with me, although she did conceed that I had done a good job of stitching up a previous self inflicted knife wound Phantom

I've had 2 .177cal Geco's in the forearm 1st was point blank muzzle up against the flesh (ouch) from my HW40PCA. Pellet got as far as embedding the head in my skin. Skirt sat upright out of the skin. 2nd was same gun/pellet but at an angle. Pellet entered the skin and carried on for almost an inch and half I had to open the skin to allow me to use the tweezers to get the pellet out. That hurt a lot more than the pellet going in Phantom

Thanks Archie, I'll give that a go (we have a tub of that) Phantom -
Great in the summer months out to 30ish yards. Not so good in the cold though as temp dictates the pressure from the Co2 and in winter can be a nightmare. For hunting, go for a Springer The SMK XS19 is my personal choice for a cheap reliable, accurate bunny killer Phantom

Well Guy's, Doll's and those that aint quite sure. During the winter my skin on my fingers has been getting progressively worse Now I am in the position of not being able to pull the trigger on my HW40 Pistol (very light and crisp) without it causing me severe pain I've tried going to bed in gloves filled skin softner, tried the "Snow Fire" stick which is good but which dont seem to last very long, tried Nutragena etc...... What can I use to soften and repair this? As you can imagine being on the end of the fingers, these hurt like hell when I try to use the pad to pu

Should we introduce an air rifle licence?
Phantom replied to LordGamebore's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I only wear cammo when out hunting, even at night Makes it even harder for the quarry to spot you at night. Bunnies see blocks of shape rather that an an outline, so breaking up that shape ie: to camofauge the shape makes it that bit harder (But thats a different thread entirely!) I live in a place thats fairly rural and the only other people I see wearing camo are fishermen (loads of em in this area including me) and the young fashion consious bucks and tarts. I rarely see anyone else wearing camo unless I go into the city. Phantom -

Well that bits easy Simply anyone who ends their sentances with "Like", "know what I mean", and "Innit". That gets rid of the inbread chave scum yokels (Sorry to the geniune Redneck yokels out there, I know they are not chave scum even if they are inbread). Also the ones that wear their super large baseball and peak caps on sideways or back to front. The pricks that wear so much bling they rely on the dazzle to call in the maggies (most wont even know what a maggie is) and of course all those :wankerzo4: that wear suites and introduce themselves as "I'm such and such, I'm an MP you know
