  1. 21/4" board 41/2" mesh you can chin them in the net,put another net on and take the rabbit out while your waiting for the next rabbit Agree your meshes are nt all the same size yet but doubt anyones first few nets were perfect, nice start just keep practising and try garden twine till you ve got the hang of it. They make rubbish nets but its cheap as chips to buy and then go on to hemp or whatever twine you get on with Good Luck Y.I.S Leeview
  2. Now that is definately illegal Y.I.S Leeview
  3. Now a question for you - do you see anglers, shooters, dog show, dog agility, equestrian, stickmakers, gundog competitors etc on any of the forums complaining about fees etc at our fairs? Albertj I dont see any complaints from sea anglers, shooters, dog show, dog agility, equestrian, stickmakers, gundog competitors etc complaining about fees at your fairs due to not going on sites that they frequent but do see terrier and lurcher owners complaining on sites I go on about your fairs As for going of on tangents what happened to the carrot? 7. Albert these concessions you keep harping on about be honest they're carrots hoping you'll entice more people through the gate IF you dont have the stands or the lurcher and terrier shows how would that affect the gate? FACT is people go to shows to see the stands and lurchers and terriers and you charge the stand holders and lurcher and terrier people the same as the public who come to see them they are after all the attraction of the show Y.I.S Leeview
  8. So basically someone with a fast dog of a certain type has organized a challenge race for dogs of that type, with a lot of posturing, in a place and at a time that is likely to put of many who would be serious contenders in said race and to said dog, so that presumably the organizers dog will win and the posturing shall continue? And does fens not suggest turning rater than running in a straight line? basically Yes. and its £50 to enter a dog, hand slipped in pairs 1 winner which goes through to next round until finally a winner out of the last 2 dogs left in. Overall winner

  12. Just Huntin, Oh if only my maths were as simple as yours. Unfortunately not all gate money is unencumbered by costs. When one takes a contribution from everyone who comes in the gate for VAT, ground rental, car parking costs, insurance, cost of judges travel & accommodation, judges gifts, staffing, security, main arena attractions, advertising and promotion - there is very little left. I don't know how many terrier & lurcher enthusiasts were at Birr last year but even assuming there were 500 then last year having allocated all the costs above out of the gate receipts the taking away
  13. its alright saying put more holes in for the warm weather but we go ferreting in winter and thos very same holes will let cold air in then when they need to be kept warm while your out Y.I.S Leeview
