    I think the best thing to do is have a look for a book on rearing and keeping pheasants that way you have always got the information to hand. Good look with them.

    Well done mate keep it up, I say fairplay cant wait to have a read how you are getting on. Doesn't matter if you have 10 or 10,000 it's all good experience. Where just about to start catching this week 4000 to catch on friday.

    You don't know me so as you say you will not sell a pup to some one you don't know, if you check through my posts I don't know a lot about working terriers but if they are good breeding then surely this would be a good place for me to start. They would be worked not all the time to ground but will be worked in some way everyday. I've got my first job as a keeper and could do with a brace of good terriers they will be usefull tools for me, anyway if you want to consider selling any to me then please PM me, looking for dogs not bitches and they will not be sold on or used for finacial gain.

    Had a good night last night, I have seen a vixen and 5 cubs out the other so sat out last night and managed to get her and two cubs will go back with rimmy to nail the cubs.

    He's nearly 17 months now, he is no ftch but he does what I need him to do, stop's to whistle, takes directions at distance, blind retrieves is fine, and will handle across water. Can't ask much more of him. Anyway a few pics from the last year.

    I'm looking for two terrier pups but can't seem to find any ones I like the look of. Never had terriers before want a border bitch and pat bitch, the only ones I see advertised are pet ones. Don't want KC regestering it doesn't mean anyhting to me. Been looking through dogs for sale on here and doesn't seem to be anything expect crosses or lurchers for sale. Any help on a breeder or anyone having a litter of decent pups is appreciated.

    There has been alot of talk just lately about .17hmr I think its just the fashion calibre at the mo. Saying that not had that much experience with one but can't see the benefits over .22 as the .22 is quiter. I know the range is limited just means you have to use a bit more field craft rather than relying on 150yard shots to hit everything. Back to topic, get your FAC sent in asap, I would go for .22 as per the reasons above but speak to a few people try the different calibres and see which one suits your shooting best. Good luck

    Bit late in the year to be working, the cover is growing there are young rabbits about which will make easy targets for them. Best to leave it till september/october time now. But to answer your question I cant see why they wouldn't work in season maybe not as well as normal as the hormones are all over the place.

    Its the missus who is having them and i'm working them, don't worry she wont be dresing them up etc she's not like that. She likes borders, is there anyone breeding good ones on here? I don't want KC registered it doesn't mean shit to me as long as it does what I want it to. just mild mannered but can switch on to work. Cheers for the advice so far. By the way my ferrets don't go to ground without locators and a dog will be no different for me. Unforunatly for you lot it won't be going to ground very much I mainly lamp foxes.

    Hi all, first time posting in this section been having a browse through it for a few weeks. I'm keepering a small shoot and have wanted to get a terrier, been out ratting with two pats and a russel. Been toying with the idea of getting one for a while, it will be mainly just working rats and brushing dogging the birds back later in the year with the occasional dig but not very often. Thinking of a border? quite like them and think they would suit. Any advice appreciated.

    A while ago there was a link on here to a program that you can keep records of shot vermin but can't find it now. Does anyone know the program I mean and possibly have a link? Cheers
