  1. never used the mark 3,but i suppose one day the old mk1will fail,and ill have to get mk3,bit like the terrier locator,my collar failed an i bought the new one,cant beat it,as they say, moving on.
  2. having spoken to a number of keepers,old and very much older, they,ve all said the same, hand feed on straw,keep the vermin down, shoot it ,snare it, trap it,and they,ve also said about foxes recognising smells,in association with prey,and sounds one old fella said he,d not use call duck ,as brought foxes about,sunny spots and shelters for dusting,make it a place good for them and they,ll come back,was one anwser i got,and yes feedblocks feed vermin, so im not bothering,il stick to what iv been told, that works for the elders,it can have changed that much,what do you think?.

  7. they made more on tuesday at melton, cockerels making good price, i got 2 bronze there and paid 52 pound, 14,1/2 pounders, went to st,neots yesterday and got an 18lb for £17.00,they will sell the rest in bedford today, the big turkeys made nothing, less than 80p a lb, good for the buyers, not so good for the producer, pheasant 80p a brace, partridge, 90p brace, filled me van up, merry christmas,

  10. here we go lads, whilst we were out beating last week, the keepers here have thrown down a challenge, meet in the pub at 12.00 and then from there we have 24hrs to produce as many different varietys of game,and the winning team takes the pot and the game, so there we have it, i think it might be a no brainer meeting in the pub, we,ll see, they did this last year at the midland, and the keepers beat us, however we were at the bar most of the day, but we outsang them on the way home,i expect this to take place after boxing day, let you know how we fair this time, happy christmas to all, dd

  16. no i think they have allways been there, but as the universities got bigger the lacs recruited more for a pack lunch and a £10, i do know the cambs had them very bad, allways in the press, and i would have thought the huntsman at the time would have had his work cut out with them, i cant imagine how he coped, after the antis hung off the hound wagon and the young lad went under the wheels, the hounds still meet here pretty local to me, but they dont have any probs that i know of.
