Hi all, My friend who is in Royal Marine training came down for the weekend after getting through week 17 (hell week) and wanted to relax off a bit. He used to have an old school Webley Vulcan fitted with a gas ram but after a few times of a mate or two pulling the trigger when the barrell wasnt upright it screwed the gun completley. So until now he has used an FAC .22 when we went out hunting. However trying to get him back on the air guns went out about all over the place trying to get him a HW97K and nnowhere had it, then went hunting the same places of an Air Arms TX200, again th

Yo dude, Can you tell me about this spring then? If its more powerful what sort of performance difference have you noticed? Is the recoil too much now? Harder to cock? Longer range before dipping?? Fill me in! Jack

Hi Zini, Good post as usual, one thing I found a bit strange was the pellet landing left of the bullseye in the 15 yard shots.. (2:11 mins) Why is that? I thought that the horizontal axis once zero'd at any range would remain the same at any range. And that any errors made zero'ing at lets say 20 yards, would be more emphasised at 50 yards if anything, not the other way round? Hope you can shed some light on this? Thanks Jack

Who is this aimed at Jack and what are you trying to get at? Zini Its not aimed at anybody mate, its just only recently I realised lots of people were drive-by shooting when I assumed most were out on foot. You would still probably blow me out the water on foot mate I'm not taking it away from you, your stuffs pure quality. All the best Jack.

Thats it, the forum on the whole is full of quality shooting, friendly advice and a good place for people to see what its all about. All the best

I personally would never shoot a hare with an air rifle, not saying it wouldnt kill it but probably wouldnt be an instant kill. Although this picture here says otherwise!

??? I've scanned through nearly every thread recently and there isnt any 'trolls' wankers' or whatever... Just people of different levels talking about air-gunning? Seems very unfounded to me and to be perfectly honest, the only shit thread on the page was yours! All the best, im off shooting (Crawling about in the mud not from my drivers seat )

Urmm... Its comes fitted with one inside, why would you change it?

Zini do you zero at around 30 meters with your setup? Do you zero on magnification x10? I am just interested as I have never really thought of using that sort of magnification. I've always felt for me even long range at best all I would need is x8 maximum (I only use upto x6) Also does a scope hold its zero if you zero'd it in at say x6 and start shooting the same target on x12 for instance? Just interested, havent given it a whole hearted try but assumed accuracy would be partially or totally lost, even on a good scope. Whats your thoughts? ATB Jack

Good stuff mate, I have been at the pigeons, not decoying just sitting in my hide waiting for them to land in a busy tree. However looking at some of this I think I may try decoying... The other day I got to my hide and there was about 100 pigeons in the tree but soon as they saw me at about 100 yards the bailed. Waited about 2 hours and not one landed so I need to stamp out the bad luck and make them come to me! That first photo are you taking that picture while IN your hide, or is its under one of those trees in the distance? Good shooting. Jack

Enjoyed reading that mate, was meant to be out today but rain/sleep has been full on since I got up! Good work! Jack

Wait until they are out the water so they dont sink or are not retrievable, headshot and its all good! Would love to have some ducks to hunt on my permission!

Best value spring rifle

Anything Weihrauch`! All the best Jack -
hahah yeh it does look a bit worse for ware, It fell from literally the top of that tree with no resistance and hit the ground so hard ruffled it up a bit I think, plus had to chuck it over a stream after retrieving. The pheasants I will shoot if the situation arises only direct headshots though, however, my two friends had an FAC .22 they were going for them with And to the question about the snow, it basically was gone that morning when I got up (11am) heheh... We had it a bit here but it was never full on snow in like alot of places, which is strange as we usually get alot.

Good shooting mate. Glad the guns back in order. Jack

With a bag like that mate, why worry about using a scope? As long as your having fun with it still and your getting good results. I suppose having a nice scope really allows you to get to know your guns shot placement etc, but for sub 25 yard shooting and your good enough with open sights then keep doing it.. Love how the rat came out for a taste of blood and got nailed hehe! As zini said you dont have to have a problem with a scope at close range, I would have mine on the lowest magnification which is 4x (my scope details are bellow on my signature) and if you not zero'd for a

I know I didnt mention it because I'm sure everyone sees some big pigeons but when I got my hands on it it was enormous! It fell stone dead out the tree and no shit sounded like a rugby ball being thrown towards the ground from a tree ahaha! He feel right from the top!

Beautiful gun mate. Only challenger to the Weihrauch springers really. Really would like an underlever and the woods lovley. Good shooting. Jack
