Seasons greetings all, Hope everyone has had a good, stress free couple of days. I've been excessing in alcohol for weeks now back from Univeristy in Bristol and to be totally honest feel very washed out now! Cant concentrate on anything other than shooting . Anyway long story short I wrote a huge peice and my PC decided to just reboot and I lost it, I shouldnt be having these problems with fairly new PC! So in short I havent been posting my own results since the summer really, mainly due to my lack of camera, and my lack of results all round really. Dont get m,y wrong I ha

Weihrauch HW100KT takes rabbit, woody, crow and jackdaw
JackReid replied to zini's topic in Airgun Hunting
Text book shot on that last Jackdaw, great shooting and great footage. All the best Jack -
I gather your point but I felt that it was a bit distasteful to have it on a most memorable shot thread, finding amusement in a rabbit flipping about. There wont be a sport if we keep feeding the anti's with ammunition like that. Im not saying that doesnt happen, sure everyones had a shot like that, I just thought it was a bit out of place and by not saying anything is almost encorouging. I was a bit snappy though so apologises for that! No hard feelings. All the best

If thats your most spectacular shot, I dread to think what you like on a bad day. Maybe you should get a spud gun for awhile? I dont know my most spectacular shot... The ones that stick out are the ones where you push the boundries a bit, but the result is exactly as you intended. Few weeks ago had a bunny about 40 or so large paces, gentle but enough wind to move the pellet an inch or two max on target. Aimed about 1.5 inches on target above and 2 inches to the right. Waited for a consist blust and the shot sailed to exactly where I wanted. I cant actually think of one time the HW95K

Good shooting mate Im usually in Oxfordshire shooting all the time but Im at University in Bristol so every few weeks when I pop back to see the girlfriend or whatever I cant wait to get out for a shoot. Do you have a good permission? All the best

First good hunting mate. However, excuse my ignorance but being just a shooter, I always am amazed at people can take dogs with them when they take the gun out? Do the rabbits not simply leg it on first sense of a dog? I suppose the dogs are your primary hunting machines and the gun is for any chance given? All the best Jack

Occasionally happens mate, Just got to try make the bullet connect with the brain as much as possible, too far back may not be lethal in that moment, too far forward through the snout also. Even when in last seconds rabbits are very good nat getting back to the hole or trail, just have a check of the zero and some practise then go for 0.5cm-1cm behind the eye, just as long as it connects with all its force you have done all you can. Me and my buddy (scratchbat) headed to the permission at 6.30 - 7 for an evening of rabbit slaughter, it was quite hot and almost juts a little bit to early as on first site, there was little to be seen compared to previous days. First thought I would leave the farm to settle for a bit before I came in for my big sweep so we headed to the enormous end field with my gun (.22 air) and the gun he is currently using while his Webley Vulcan is down and out (standard FAC .22). Sat around for a minute and after about a week of not having any hayfever the wind changed and bang it got me. Sniffing away

how come.is that a bad thing rich Not really just means that once your pellet is in, and you push the sturdy little safety button then there is no way you can make the trigger 'safe' again. But unless youra real safety freak shouldnt bother you to much. The whole gun is just quality, adjustable trigger aswell so you can have it as tough or sensitive as you like! Buy it! Jack p.s get it with the weihrauch silencer should come with it, very quiet indeed for a springer.

Haha yeh wouldnt usually go for a front on shot usually is worth just holding tight for a few seconds for a better angle but knew I had this fella and his head was proper looking down so I knew he would take the full whack. More to come haha Jack

speak in a recognisable language then we will talk

HW95K, pretty much the best springer, Cant fault it apart from you cant take the safety off.

No its just standard 12ftlb spring. Havent had it chrono'd and dont really need to I dont think. My guns zero'd at the moment for 25yards bang on centre. Just because the shot is dropping doesnt mean it isnt a worthwile shot, If I am say shooting at something at 40 yards and I'm zero'd for 25yards you will need to account for the drop and aim that tiny bit higher, like half the heigh the a rabbits head above exactly where you want to hit. Just test your distance and targets and tune yourself to how far you need to aim above to land it bang on at most the stages up from whatever your zero'd at

This is a rushed post as I did about 3 pages and vista just closed internet explorer and I want to smash my pc. Hi all, havent posted in quite awhile after the year long massacre of my permission, hundreds of rabbits dispatched and finally a huge wave of mixi seemed to have wiped them to the brink. However with the new coming of spring and summer, unbelievably they are back in force and are quicker and smarter than ever. Throughout most the permission air rifles are used as they are best for the job, most fun and safest. One field is enormous and we occasionally just sit in the middle and

Hi there mate, I dont know for HW90's as I havent used one, I have an HW95K which is a really quite springer compared to most. If its already pretty long then a silencer will defo make it a bit harder to aim with and less managable in a tight position... Does it have connections for a silencer? Mine came with it figtted and it screws on or off, it a weihrauch silencer and apparently one of the best on the market. My mate has a gas ram in a Wembley gun, the silencer that was already o nthat when he got it second hand and it didnt make a major difference, may not be wort

I use them mate they are really good pellets, virtually exactly the same as Air Arms field diablo's which alot of people favour over any pellet. Just try not lie on them if your lying o nthe ground as you could bend the skirt of the pellet. They are good pellets though really accurate and hit with a bang.

yeh man I had some of the same questions, which is better .177 or .22?
