  1. Ase Utra's new SL5, lightweight, stainless steel, good sound reduction, not strippable but not necessary.
  2. Chapter 19 HO firearms guidance, floor and roof joist fixing Ok, coach screws at least 3/8" diameter and at least 2 1/5" long. Unfortunately that means horizontal fixing.
  3. That's a valid point Snap, the v max can be more variable than most I've found. Interestingly the zero @ 100 yrds is exactly the same for 105g scenars and 87g v max
  4. Tried 87g v max in my 6br today, using Vit 140, with no real development it shot in the low .3's, 32.5grs bullet touching the lands, 3070 fps, with some tuning I think it's a winner, which is nice as I can use one powder for everything and it's deer legal @ 1820 ft/lbs.
  5. Can anybody give me information on this man and his cartridge 'The Bartrophy'. He had a shop in Lymm at the Cross and I believe in Knutsford. Thanks PV.
  6. A year on and 250 rounds down the tube, entered a local comp to see just what a 'multi purpose' rifle can do, came away with small group at 300yds, 0.59" group shot off a bipod, this rifle is a compromise, for Target, Deer and Fox, built with quality parts and put together well (Thanks Rhino Rifles). PV.
  7. Anybody used one of these Chinese air rifles(BAM B 4), just serviced one for a friend, I wouldn't recommend one to anybody, cheap 'n' nasty, but my friend seems happy.
  8. I'll guess at Sako 75 maybe 85 Hunter Laminate Stainless in probably .243 with T8 mod.
  9. Curlew, paler lower bill, softer plumage stripe. PV.
  10. Plenty of big grins coming your way

  12. Unfortunately the Geneva convention forbids the use of the round that would make sense! There's no reason an expanding round will do much more damage than a jacketed round fired down an oversized bore so that it tumbles! The Hague Convention.
  13. Stunning scenary, thanks for sharing John.
  14. I think this is a difficult one Sage, rimfires are the workhorse of the rifle world, bought cheap,(CZ/BRNO from about £250+new), abused, neglected mostly. There are people that cherish their rimfires but I think in the minority. That said I still think it could be worth pursuing, (what do I know)
  15. A few things to look for regarding high pressure aswell as hard bolt lift pressuresigns.bmp
