  1. That'll get the blood pumping, eh?
  2. Maybe we've been going about this all wrong.... http://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/article_9b8d7648-ac12-11df-85e7-001cc4c03286.html
  3. Spot on with both points. Not just Montana, Wisconsin has 30+ dogs killed by wolves every year. Mostly hounds training for or running on Black Bear, some family dogs in their own front yards as well.
  4. Totally amazing! Thanks for letting us virtually follow along. Learned a lot and am hoping for a speedy recovery for the dogs. ATB John
  5. Some of the larger dogs will kill the yote. As for speed, I think most people around here rely more on stamina. I've known several people that let out packs of dogs in the evening so they can go out and kill yotes. Airdales, Belgian Malnois, etc. IMHO, it's irresponsible not to accompany the dogs. Besides, the fun is in working with them as a team! WTG Aaron, you nailed all the relevant points perfectly!
  6. No worries, he looks great. The skinnier the dog, the less they get hurt and the more stamina they have. ATB from this side of the pond.

  8. Best of luck with your new adventure Trapperman keep us informed as you go along, recording the ups and the not so ups, as I think it will make a good read and invaluble for anyone else wanting to have a go +1 !
  9. Never seen so many rats at one time, wow. Love the rat with the "oh sh*t" look as it ran up the hill, only to see the lurcher staring at it!
  10. Raw bacon is supposed to be a great bait on traps.
  11. lol goldie! Smart call taking them up. You can spend days getting coons out of a pile like that.
  12. Vets on their high horse, want a sermon visit a preacher. I see several injured undocked tails in the uplands each year, yet more are pushing for a ban on docking. With an undocked tail, you'd think it was a lung shot deer by the blood on the brush. Get out in the field and bandage a few bloody tails, then talk about whether to dock or not. I've never seen a docked tail bloody from running in the thick stuff. Easy to rub a chair smooth with your backside and tell others what they should or shouldn't do. Fools.
  13. Tie a small bit of yarn to the base of the trigger with two overhand knots. Easier if you use a fair sized piece and then trim to be slightly smaller than the size of the trigger. Yellow is the preferred color as it makes them think it's cheese! lol! Seriously now, you rub the p-butter into the yarn and then you don't get the sly ones gently licking the trigger clean and getting away on you. Ah, sorry, could't help myself on the color bit!-) They don't care one whit about the color.
  14. UphillDoc n Erik: Very sad on his part. There is a lot of that on the net, pity. Thanks fer the heads up.
