  1. Have you done it? Is it difficult to do? How easy is it to break something once you have opened the locator up? Thanks...
  2. Craig, thats a groundhogger deluxe , how soon before you get him started? next spring? this winter?
  3. Tim , did you click on the video in my link? the dog in that video got it done quicker than what was shown in your video. And that is not a rip on your terriers, instead I am hoping that you will see that a video of an even quicker kill than the one you posted got a fella in trouble with the law. And as for welcoming the aspca or peta into your life? Thats just big bold talk, cause they can turn a hunting home life upside down right quick. Again do as you will, but inviting that attention to yourself and to the work people do with their terriers can only bring us closer to what has happened in
  4. And I know that my stance on this is not a popular one with most folks, that I can be labeled a wuss or scared or etc etc. Thats fine, fire your words at me , but its not gonna be the guys who hunt and keep their business to themselves that are feeding the antis file, which is leading to stricter and tougher laws against what we do. Its the very public, very graphic displays by few who are helping to wreck it all. Feck I hate scolding on someone who is out there doing it , for real and is not just a keyboard hunter, but at the same time we have to have self restraint when posting that sort of
  5. Tim, you do as you please, but you gotta know that this is such a wide open forum, that tons of antis around the world watch what is posted here. Whether legal or not in your state I don't know. I do know where I am at,that this just happened last month, http://www.mlive.com/news/jackson/index.ssf/2011/02/man_whose_dog_killed_raccoon_p.html , I would hate to have anything happen like that to you, but man I'd say putting up video like that can only increase the scrutiny of both yourself personally and of the hunting of raccoons with dogs across the board. Best to leave a low profile to no profi
  6. Id like to suggest.... http://www.revlon.com/Revlon-Home/Products/Haircolor/ColorSilk/Colorsilk-Luminista.aspx Not looking for a real worker, I figure might not be too concerned about real coat colour. Maybe he'd want to give this a shot eh?
  7. Wondering where he has gone, I liked reading what he had to write, anyone here know how he is doing?
  8. That is a great size for working groundhog here in the states, If it turns out that fox is too much to handle, A working home in the states would be easy to find
  9. I think another thing you are going to have ask yourself before you do this, is this, "am I gonna be cool with seeing my pet taking some damage, tore up etc, am I willing to risk the dogs life everytime I take him out hunting?" I mean that is the black and white of getting your terrier out hunting isn't it? For sure you do everything in your power to get to your terrier as quick as you can , but shit happens and that is a real possibility each and every time he is off the lead and out of sight. Real questions for real possibilities....
  10. Doh! If I had wanted a lap dog then I would have got one, I am not a novice dog owner - just a novice Patterdale owner - I came to this forum for serious advice not sarky comments - and I thought someone would actually be able to give me some sensible help sarky remarks...welcome to THL you are going to take up digging to keep the terrier happy? I think your intentions are good, but imo if this isn't your passion I don't see it working out for long. that said best of luck. As for the dog getting picked up as stray , collar that terrier with all your info on it. and while you are
  11. Ive bought some from B & F, out of the three I bought , two ended up coming unstitched , and they were only the collars worn around the house. I called B&F , explained my situation, and they wanted me to pay the shipping to have them sent back, after I had paid the shipping to get them to the states. I like the couples they sent me, but their collars, 2 out of 3 failed and then had poor results in getting the situation resolved successfully. Last money I will spend with them.
  12. Coyotehunter, I was hoping to meet you a couple weeks back at a dig you were invited to in Michigan. Congrats on your barn hunt. Our dig turned up 6 or 7 coons and 1 grinner. It will be good to dig with you someday I think. Ghogs are running all over the place right now cleaning out dens and finding a mate. Good work for man and terrier a dig is eh? ATB hastings
  13. Ahhhh derrrr, now I feel stupid don't I? Of course I meant any of the fellas on that side of the Atlantic that keep working glenns . No harm meant to any or all. But getting a glenn here to work yotes that have been run to ground sounds a pretty good idea to me.
  14. Stunt, I'm thinking that IF there are people working glenns today, they are a hard group to meet. I can understand that if they are still about they might not be the most willing to step out into the limelight as it sounds they were mostly used for drawing badgers a pretty rough and now illegal business. I would think that out were you are, a glenn could be used to enter on a coyote chased to ground and on North American badgers. So to the English lads that might know of some working glenns but don't want to admit to it here on the most public of forums, maybe a cautious PM could be sent so t
  15. eight foot dig? well done...wheres the pics?
  16. A real steady diet of bacon should plump her right up to the too big to enter size
  17. http://www.wwmfg.com/default.asp?contentID=1165, and http://www.wwmfg.com/default.asp?contentID=1141, the second one is for the serious work, chopping roots, two foot of frost, etc. The rubber handle is saving my wrists and elbows everytime i strike the ground with it. save your pennies and get these you won't be sorry.
  18. Oh and good luck getting that shovel back from steady, Stunt... lol just playing on you stunt, when you get the chance put the pic of the root chopper you fabbed up for us.
  19. http://www.wwmfg.com/img/Product_Images/Products_Large/KS-S-SA_LG.jpg this is the one i have, same as Stuntmans, but instead of the all steel handle, mine has the rubber handle , which really saves the elbows and wrists for those really tough digs,(frost or whatever) just put a new edge on her yesterday for this weekends dig. beautiful tool.
  20. Id love to see the pics of these recent workers, somebody has em , fess up lets see em gents....
  21. Yankee again you speak in ignorance, you know not what you speak of. The one private board eh? For all I know you are ASPCA or HSUS,you no hunting posts, pot stirring lurker. Question how did you get sucked in to this post how about you be productive and list your top 3 studs in America 1) I don't have a clue, 2) I don't know if there has ever been a brush made that is broad enough to answer such a wide open question, and if there was I certainly wouldn't use it 3) And if I did have an opinion on the subject I would not share it with you (telling me what to do? good luck
