My dogs go where I go, I go where the rabbits are, however, I do tend to keep away from wooded areas, especially if you have experienced that sound of "Crack" then a "Yelp!" Only last year my older dog suffered a injury whilst running into a wood which he has worked in lots of times. 2 months off recovering. It's more luck than a gamble when entering the woods, and that goes for humans too...

Foxy and DW, could not agree more here! That dog was as tight as can be, stuck with it like it was chained to it! All I feel like doing is and I dont feel at some of these comments... Honestly!

I started with a collie/grey, good bitch, good lamping dog, and she was great at catching feather, however early retirement at 7yrs old. Then I sold my home and moved to a different location. With that, the ground was totally different, and more choice of game on the menu. I got introduced to saluki and deerhound crosses and have stuck with them for the last 15yrs. That's not a long time considereing your dog can live up to 10yrs plus, and those who truely work their dogs know that there's a good chance that the working life of a lurcher can be short for many reasons. Good place to start on here for info. Thats what you need to do chap. Read some good books, keep asking questions, maybe go out with someone with a lurcher and get to see what they are capable of doing BEFORE owning one. Just do all your home work, lots of it, then prepare for it, the rest only comes with experience, otherwise you will be brewing a recipe for a disaster, where maybe the said dog will be re homed/sold on and to join the other 30000 lurchers on death row.

As above, good opportunity for someone to use their ferrets, skills, hunt on different location and have some sport. Localish member would suit, but if needs be something can be arranged.

Just seen the cctv footage. Silly woman, she should know better really, hit her pocket and issue the fine near christmas I have 3 hard b*****d cats, and between them and my dogs they keep the pests and other cats away espeacially in the winter around the coops. Oh and they make a nice pillow too! Big up to the pussys!!!
