    They completely ruin the ecosystem.Once they're over there they would collonise the whole country in a coupe of decades. Over here we're only just starting to see the devestatuion unfold. Fewer and fewer fry and soon the rivers will be empty. On some ponds it's hard to bait fish as the crays are on bait immediately. They really are a menace. I caught on in my local stream the other day, killed him and put him behind a mink trap, least he might lure another invasive species to it's death....

    It's been windy as hell all day, but tonight its all vanished. Still, it's nice to get out for a few runs, whatever the conditions. I honestly think If i waited for a windy, moon-free night then I'd get out once or twice a year!! Make the most of the season chaps......

    I think there's just too much to go wrong. And they do seem to go wrong! The theories great, but in practice it doesn't work. IMO.

    Had an hour tonight, but the first rabbit I caught was well dosed with the dreaded Mixy. I'm really not happy! No doubt this disease will flatten the area and there'll be even less for the lamping man........Gutted ain't the word!

    Isn't it easier to just do it during the daytime go drey poking He was asking about nighttime squirrels. So I answered about night time squirrels. At certain times of the year they are much easier in the dark, if you've got an understanding about their dreys.

    Not much matey. But If I waited for a good night I'd hardly do any lamping. As long as there isn't fog I'm out four nights a week. Don't catch much though.....

    Bloody day walker that lad! Aye.......He was nocturnal until he met me..... :D He's already wrote me a nice little adventure. Just got in, only managed three from eight runs. Very hard rabbits, wooden post and rail fences. proper nightmare :cray:Still, I s'pose it's better than being sat in the house..... Good hunting guys....

    You wake them up....... this is only really possible from November to April. Best night I've had on them was 13. Most out of a drey was 7, and I shot 6 of them.

    How can a trap that is deamed unsuitable for stoat be deemed suitable for the much, much tougher squirrel?

    I hear rumblings that Stoat are going to be taken off the list for the mark4 trap. A new STAO is due in a couple of months I believe, does anyone have any opinions on taking stoats off?

    The only reason it's ended is Greed! I was only talking to a mate of mine this morning about the big game fairs. I said that the Midland would be finished before too long. There is a distinct lack of stalls, at both big events. This is down to greed. Stall pitch prices should be capped at a lower figure, then the fair would be bigger and draw more money in. The entrance fee should be much smaller as this too will bring more people in. People with money. It should be a win-win situation.     I've had saluki lurchers a couple of decades now and I can't see me choosing any other cross anytime soon. I've caught a hell of alot of tackle with them, all over the Uk and surrounding lands....... The simple facts are, i would jack most collie crosses.....

    I've always been lucky with hares.... ..... Stumbling around with me eyes closed, I've occasionally bumped into them.....
