  2. it was a normal one, i couldnt afford king size....ha ha ha....i can remember the first night i did it. Rocky didnt need any encouraging to wolf the full bar down and im not sure if he even chewed it i think he killed 3 hares and 4 rabbits on the lamp, but that, to me, back then was an amazing bag,. poor bloody hares, they couldnt escape anyway because we were lamping from the gateways!!! the cruel sods we were back then! Thank god times have changed a little

  5. shoot the fxcker so it doesnt breed withe the pure mallards and you will end up with a race of mongrels with white feathers and heads and suchlike..
  6. IMHO, dont worry mate, if its just a one off your dog will be ok. when i was younger and dafter i used to give the dog a mars bar before each nigths lamping!!! the idiot i was!! just let the dog empty itself often as it may be quite loose. good luck

  9. I think perhaps, rather than the % of bull, the quality of that bull blood is more important. I would rather have 1/16 of grand champion blood than 15/16 of the run of the mill shit that seem to make up a good number of bullX's these days. Then again, it depends on what the owner wants hid bullX for...just rabbits/hares/deer...dont matter how game the dog is IMHO, but if you expect the dog to kill toothy critters single handed without any human intervention, then gameness does matter....JMHO...great thread
  10. Got up about 6:20 this mornign so went for a walk with scoob. We got near several bunnies but none offered a shot so we enjoyed the morning. the robins were singing and cock chaffys were everywhere. I spotted a winged mallard and decided it needed putting out of its misery looked like it had hit pwerlines or something like that. scoob went in like a lab, and boy was it cold , but he did a good retrive. the mallard was defintely injured when i took it off scoob as it looked to have a broken wing. At least i can rest in the fact that it suffered no longer. after a long walk i spotted a pair o

  12. Firstly, apologies for taking my time to review this book. I opened the brown package and looked at the shiny black cover, looking forward to digesting its contents. The book is about trapping and netting all manner of british birds many years ago when such activitys were acceptable. the book is a journey through Bills life as a young lad, learning many wrinkles from the old bird boys on the way. Its well written and a great read, i found it written in the same way as Phil Drabbles books, i.e educational and yet telling a great story that makes you want to get to the end of the chapter to see
