when i had a big collection of bagdes i used to display them in a large glass case on the wall. Instead of the traditional way of putting the pin through the baize i used blue-tack instead. much easier.also a few badges had the pins off, and others were of a funny design so this way it made things easier. have you got any good ones wilky? i used to have the pennine 25year, the first ever pennine, quorn LS, rochdale harriers!,wentworth 1900-1901 and loads of other old stuff....i should have kept hold of them really, but such is life.. good luck

Mark, theres a few not far from you, but they are in low densitys. i heard that some crazy fools were bringing them back from down south before dropping them off. :ph34r: but this is only a rumour

if you doing plenty of shovel work, the soles will go sooner or later. i just use some ex army ones i got for £30 a pair. i have two pairs and have had them about 4 seasons now. they long since split and are no longer waterproof, but the soles are holding out ok. i wear gortex socks with them so my feet dont get wet. a while back i spent some coin and got a pair of demon gamekeeper as i was told they are very good boots, but after a hard season they gave up the ghost I woudl rather have 3 pairs of £30 ex army than one pair of £100 new ones, but i am a tight sod!!!!

anyone worked a staffie /greyhound lurcher as opposed to the conventional APB? i saw one today at a friends house and it was a very nicde looking dog, and allegedly is very good on foxes. Anyone had much experience of them?

the james doulglas book is excellent and not many people i speak to have heard of it...also tha waddy wadsford "sporting life" is truely superb, well written and with good accounts of otterhunting and other such sports with good pics.....if you can get hold of a copy i would recommend it

beleive it or not i used to go coursing with a chap who's dog would not run in the rain! He has since dispenced of this bloodline and now has charlie/foxy bred dogs and i beleive he is having an excellent season so far. The main problem is finding good running sopts he tells me. -

nice flies smudgey... when you spin the deerhair, if you butt it up real tight and add a little more the head will end up very dense and will produce a bigger "wake". i remember tying my first ever muddler many hyears ago, got deer hair everywhere except on the hook!!!! i didnt throw the loop slack enought and it was just spinning out onto the floor!!! Thankfully i got better

I dont know if anyone else has ever thought this but.....how long could a human live if they were only to eat soil???? (only allowed to drink water)...earth worms seem to do ok on it, so has anyone thought of doing an experiment?????
