smart..... its amazing how the eagle will tackle such large quarry. i cant help but wonder if wild eagles would take an adult roe?

  6. Back in the good old days when Muntys were a legal; quarry i once had my dog stabbed in the shoulder by a rogue buck Luckily the damage was not that bad and healed within a week or two. My quesion is, has anyone had bad experiences when hunting muntys... cheers JD
  7. I might just do that.....fancy knocking one of those nesting boxes up myself. visited a large colony of tree sparrows the other week, they are increasing in number now thanks to good nesting sites and uncultivated margins....which is a good sign...

  12. another messer.....shay told me all about you sheep-o-phile
  13. what happens when your one and only dog gets injured ? once the seasons here i dont seem to get that many injuries...touch wood. Most injuries (i have found) come from running on hard ground. I have ran a single dog all season before now and they have had to be laid off twice, once with a munty stabbing them and once when i was (trying) to run on chalk.. Two dogs are great and a back up, but its when they are left at home that they start to be a nusiance JMHO, its each to their own.....bgut i would rather have one good 'un than several disobebdient indifferent ones....how people can
  14. :clapping: good on ya Vix.....that Cheifs just a dirty little sheep molester anyway...
  15. Im not sure, but i think it was june, so may have missed it....caught a stag beatle too when i was over there...some beastie
  16. You need an awful lot of work to realy test one lurcher, its hard to give two enough work IMHO. I have had two on a few occasions, but i have to say the very best times were all had when just one was in the kennel, running all night every other night really shows the dogs for what they are....JMHO
  17. A poachers tale. a smoochers tale. the working jack russel (chapman) world of the working terrier (DH) kenzie the wild goose man These are in no particular order...
  18. I think that terriers and terriermen is a top book. Ok, i know that some in there may be messers, but the book is well made and colourful. i thought it was a great read and well worth £45. best of all, its a good investment too with books being £200 on the net. better than money in the bank. Thought there was some very good historical photos in it too..... JMHO.
  19. bird fit, but the copper looks like a fat nonce.....
  20. Yes Pal, its totally different. lots of digging pics and boar and stag hunting pics....when you go there you quickly realise how they can never ban hunting in france...
