did a season on motocross but now its road racing for me i love it nearly gave uo but am going to go for it this season now and then see where i stand...
nice looking bikes guys...
you do pay for the name but again its all about personal preferance.... i had a bsa lightning and it was ok i then spen 300 on a bsa scorpion a lovely gun but not very nice trigger, i then sold that and bought a air arms s410 which i do like the trigger and its a better gun In my opinion, now if i sell my air arms any time soon ill get a rapid 7...
theres a few things you could do....
p*ss round the cage, this will lay down a human scent and therefor the fox shouldnt come close.
i would never in a million years shoot a fox which came in the garden as i will prob have the police around her in no time due to my neighbours and plus i dont have the correct tool.
people say there are more foxes in the town that in the country side, cant see how valid it is but i could imagine it with the amount of people leaving food out for them
people dont ferret usually from feb to october but theres no law thats just in the interest of the ferreter.
but shooting them can be done all year round...
when does everyone stop ferreting march ish? sems to be earlier this year
from now on if i go out and catch rabbits which have young ill let them go as none of the farms i go on a really crop growers so the rabbits arent to bad...just sustain what i got for next season...
ferrets are addicvtive i had 11 before in 3 cages because people kept giving them to me but cut numbers down as i was spending 25 pound on food every 2-3 weeks and it was hard to keep them all clean..
what put me off keeping alot of ferrets is in the summer where you get flies and maggots even though they are cleaned daily.
im looking forward to having a few litters this year because i had problems with one of my jills last year but have now 3 jills so expecting a good number of kits..
I would go for a pcp mate i had a lightning and yes very good gun but doesnt compare against a pcp, also dont no how old your lad is but with a spring they are not the easiest thing to load for the younger ones, and also im always scared when loading the trigger catches on my coat and get pulled and then that makes the gun fire up from the "broken " position and if there are fingers in the way then it could be nasty... whereas a pcp is nice and easy to load.
mate the feds shouldnt come round what i did when i set my sights in my back garden is tell my next door neighbour first..... aslong as the pellet doesnt leave your land its fine..
like it has been said, save up for a locator mate best way forward,,,
also DODDSY your lab with that woodcock is mint..... absaloutly stunning pic 10/10 for me..
i wouldnt use a muzzle mate.... classed as cruel in my eyes, yes back in the day when they were ferreting for food and if they didnt catch rabbits they would go hungry..... but just think if there is a stoat or mink in that warren what the ferret going to do?.... get eaten alive.
good picks. i got a mark 3 but not 100 percent sure how to find the collar and how do i know where the correct reading is.. but will have to get out and practice.
Well yesterday me and a friend went put for a few hours, he recenlty bought a gun (bsa lightning xl) brand new with a scope and bag etc etc...
he asked if we could zero his sites quick. so we went in the woods out of the wind and started firing at a paper target which i put up.
I had a few shots at 30 yards to see how close it was..... it couldnt even hit the tree!!!!
he was then shooting at 5-7 yards and he might hit the tree with one pellet adjust it in the right direction to get closer to the target and then he would fire again and he would miss the tree... the majority of pellets even w
i had a mark 1 with 3 collars but sold it, i now got mark 3 1 collar, good but like last week i must have enterd my jill in to atleast 15 sets and didnt even use the locator maybe i will oneday but it puts my mind at rest that if she was to kill under i would be able to retrieve her which is the main thing not that i think she will kill under to be honest because she is so small fat but small lol..
im out again hopefully tomoz so will let everyone no how i get on..
the cage i got with my hob n jill didnt have a nest box as they were kept in a garage so it was always warm...
after i waterproofed the cage i bought a ferret box from the local hunting shop, nothing special but quite small as its for a small hob and small jill i put that in the corner of their cage and wedged a piece of wood in between that and a piece of wood from the cage. i didnt want to nail it in because i wanted to be able to take it out and put new bedding and all in..
the box only cost me a tenner and i cut a circle in the front where the holes are and filled it with bedding.. works
