Northumberland is beautiful. Always find myself going back there, never get bored of the place.

Why worry if she is anyone's cup of tea? She is a beauty, enjoy her.

Now now, play nice. I thought I recalled info on Pug HDi's not liking veg oil. Some Renaults also have issues if I recall correctly? The point I was trying to make about diesel and was unsure of, and you've kind of answered (hence my question mark) was around we/you (I no longer have the diesel van) pay more for diesel than petrol and yet it is a product of petrol refinement. So effectively were paying twice for the same thing and the old government are quids in. I remember reading some info from the AA or whoever around the fact you could "blow up" your engine using oil. I reckon combust

I think it's to do with the fact that most of the large German manufacturers use the better performing Bosch pumps. Allegedly some of the French cars using oil have problems due to inferior pumps. Then again there are some driving French who have no bother at all. The HDi's are not supposed to be too good on the old veggie from what I've read.

Has this thing really only covered 1,000 per year it's been on the roads? If so how the hell have you managed that?

Mate if you read the post on 4x4 fuel a couple of threads below your new post there will probably be an answer in there. I doubt, without looking if anyone will be able to tell you which fuel pump you have fitted. For all anyone knows you may have had a different pump fitted at some time etc etc. There are links in that thread to info you will be able to read up on plus if you type in veggie oil to google you will have more than enough to go on. There are some sites that list models suitable for veg oil if you take the time to search. At the end of the day it is your own choice to run veg oi

Actually to correct you it was designed to run on powdered coal. When I said it was doing what came naturally I meant running on oil. Check out my second response in this thread where I state (and has been pointed out in the reply after yours) that peanut oil is the preferred oil of use but as it's expensive and not too readily available in the UK rapeseed, or veggie oil is the next best and closest match to viscosity available. The whole point of the diesel was for it to run on many fuels as it was to be used in parts of the world where fuel as we may know it was unavailable. Places li

It will run smoother it's what the engine was originally designed to run on so it is doing what comes naturally. The only thing you may harm if you run veggie is your diesel pump if it's a poor performer and maybe your fuel filter. other than that you should be fine. The only difference with a proper conversion and dumping it in your tank is the conversion will warm the oil prior to using and flush a small amount of diesel through the injectors when you turn off the engine. If your sensible with your mix in the cold weather you should have no issues whatsoever. Saying that you run yo

The Jeep at that mileage will need to have had the head gasket done as they are notorious for going after 100k and are mega bucks to sort out. DDD is spot on about body rot on the Disco too, so make sure you check long and hard. I'd recommend a Frontera too, everyone will slag it even though they are a good vehicle. For 2g you should be onto new shape and either 2.8 Isuzu lump or the V6. Both of these are excellent and reliable as hell.
-
Typical responses here then. I bet that all the people in this thread that are making negative comments about Frontera's have never even been in one let alone driven one off road. How can you call something shite that you have never driven. I have owned 2 Fronteras and they are great. If you are going off road, I'd suggest the SWB version as the LWB tends to ground out over heavy terrain. Both of mine have been 2.0 petrol SWB models and both managed really well off road with Collway MT tyres on them. A couple of lads I used to go out with have heavily modified Frontera's, with winches and e

Now i've heard the opposite mate, i was told they were really good. That's what he said there SHIT HOT not SHIT There's two trains of thought on these, allegedly. A lot of people reckon they are great off road machines. A lot of people reckon that the people who reckon there great are kidding themselves. I'd like to hear first hand on just how good they are, so please let us know when you have had yours on the muddy stuff.

Pics as promised. Hope you like them.

How do you know it was the fuel? The diesel engine was designed to run on OIL (not diesel), peanut oil. The closest thing to that in abundance is rapeseed or vegetable as it's known. The likely hood is if it was an old engine it already had a knackered pump/engine. It could also of been nothing more than a blocked filter. While I ran my engine on oil there was also no smoke, well no more than the usual amount on start up on a diesel. But definately nothing extra as a result of the oil for sure. It's been proven that the engine actually runs better on oil, smoother. You definately get less of

Used to run my VW Caddy on the stuff for ages, it's great. You have to be carefull you don't use too much oil when the bad weather is here as it can go solid in the fuel lines so no more than 50 - 50 (70 - 30 would be better) but other than that you shouldn't really have any bother. It's worth changing the fuel filter a bit more regular as it can get deposits in. You can even use used oil from say your local chippy, chinese or indian etc. This must be filtered though and you can use a piece of muslin or buy a special filter. You will normally get this free from a local restaurant as they h

Thanks again guys. I know some of you are protective of putting up pics of your beloved dogs so I really appreciate this. Thanks also to you all from my sister in law. She said; "if it wasn't for me doing the drawing and the guys from the forum providing photo's as inspiration there is no way she could of completed this tribute, so HUGE thanks". I should have some pics of the completed tribute too so I'll post them up for you to see as well.

Superb, they are exactly what I need. Thanks gents really appreciate the effort. I'll see if I can get some finished pics up when it's done. The colours are very similar to the sandy coloured one as well. Superstars, thanks again.

Hi, Hope some of you guys may be able to help me out here. Basically the sister in law is a florist and one of her customers has come in for a floral tribute for an old gent they knew who's funeral is tomorrow. The tribute is to be a Lurcher made from flowers as the old guy was a Lurcher nut. What I really need urgently is a good profile shot (head and shoulders, side on) of a long haired Lurcher. Colour is unimportant as all I need to do is get the basic outline drawn onto oasis so that she can fill it with flowers similar in colour to some pics we have of the old guys favourite dog. U

This may be of help, it was a tutorial I posted for another forum I use. You can put this up as a sticky if it helps guys. Hello, I'm hoping that this little tutorial may come in handy for those among us who are a little less experienced when it comes to all things PC. This is a quick overview to posting images firstly to the web on a free hosting site and then from the host site to the Tilers Forums or any other forum for that matter. Step 1 So you've taken your lovely shots of whatever and loading them from your Digi Cam to your PC. Step 2 Time to get a FREE account

I don't have any permissions bud. I'm completely green to all this field sport, which is why I came on here to get the info to help me get started. Hence there will be loads of dumb ass questions no doubt from me. Basically like I put in my introduction thread in new members, I'm trying to become self sufficient. I have an allotment on the way and want to get into fishing, rabbiting and ratting. The latter being for pest control on the allotment. Bear with me, I'm a quick learner but need some help right now. The reason for the meat supply is obviously I'm trying to leave behind the supermar

Top two are a local quarry just outside Houghton, unfortunately though we lost rights to use it after idiots in the group used the gravel piles. Very dangerous and does loads of damage as tis is the stuff that is sold so that got stopped. Same with everything really, always the idiots that spoil things. The last shot was Robin Hood's Bay near Whitby. Canny little site, just waste farmland but the farmer hires it out for the day. Hard terrain and really good fun. I've got loads more I could post if anyone wants to see them.
