  1. Hi guys, As a weathered ferreter my friend and I have been trying to come up with a large enough carrier for longer distance. We have come up with a back pack style carrier which is three tiers and compartments are big enough for your hobs. My 14 year old lad is pictured with the pack, which he has no problems in carrying when out ferreting. It has been designed to displace the weight evenly and not like side boxes which pull you to one side. They are a similar weight to the average wooden double box and the straps are made from soft webbing, strong and comfy whilst being adjustable. They

  3. Anyone using the fibreglass carry boxes, if so what are they like? How strong are they, how heavy etc?
  4. I was going put the gold comedy channel on but ive watched this video clip instead. Its had me laughing until my stomach hurt. Wouldnt like do prickly hedge rows with him id have get a crane pull him back out If you put a video on the web like that its bound to get dodgy comments. If you cant take the sh*t then dont put ya self in front of everyone. Lifes too short, lighten up folks. He ate them three rabbits as a snack on the way home, least he enjoys his food On a positive look good nets them
  5. That's a true statement born hunter. Shame that half the humans that don't reach the grade end up shelters and get pts. I just think there are those people you read on here running dogs at six month old and saying it hasn't made the grade.
  6. I have high standards when I'm training a dog. There is nothing wrong with high standards. But were you a1 at school? Could you work everything out that you were asked to? But id bet you would expect your dog to!
  7. After reading alot of posts on this forum I am struggling to understand how some dog mens logic comes from! There are some that expect so much from a cainine its unreal. They expect the perfect dog. How can we expect a dog to be perfect in every way, i am yet to find some half decent human beings. The majority of faults in dogs comes from inferior training by humans in the first place. Some people go through that many dogs because them themselves make mistakes with the dogs training then pass it on. Any dog I take on stays with me whether its got faults or not. An to comment on the idiot the o

  15. Anyone else had problems with there whippets feet/Pads. Just took 6 weeks to heel pads from some simple retrieve training on grass so very limited lead walking and plenty of days not walking as she was on three legs. Spent the last two weeks road walking after them pads had healed, decided to give her a bit of exercise off the lead, 2mins comes back on three legs again, Ive been giving the whippet loads of road work to harden them, my other dogs are fine and never have feet problems, My whippet would never take the knocks my lurcher has. Anyone Else had these problems or got any ideas????

  18. ideation how did ya manage to get your whippet retrieving mate?
  19. Any other folk experience this with there whippet. Unless its moving they are not really interested, So once the chase is over they are unwilling to retrieve. Unlike my lab who it came obviously natural to as its its in his breed. Anyone else got any ideas to get mine to improve on the retrieve. They are more like terriers in nature they just want to kill. Anyone else had problems??? Oh and my dogs are trained separately and work alone!!!!
  20. Dont mean to go against someones advice mate, but dont play tug of war with your dog it just makes them hard mouthed and they will rag everything they catch and whippets if you get one like one of mine is like a little terrier, but some good advice there!!! Start off with simple obedience and dont rush each aspect of it take your time to get it right first before you move on. Good luck
